又临到所有高耸挺拔的黎巴嫩香柏树和所有巴珊的橡树，

又臨到黎巴嫩高大的香柏樹和巴珊的橡樹；

臨到黎巴嫩高大的香柏樹、巴珊的橡樹，

臨到黎巴嫩高大的香柏樹、巴珊的橡樹，

祂必毀滅黎巴嫩高大的香柏樹和巴珊的橡樹，

又要攻擊黎巴嫩所有高大的香柏樹，和巴珊所有的橡樹。

要攻擊利巴嫩高而昂的香柏樹，和巴珊的橡樹；

又臨到所有高聳挺拔的黎巴嫩香柏樹和所有巴珊的橡樹，

亦臨及利巴嫩高大之香柏、巴珊之橡樹、

凡利巴嫩干霄之柏香木、巴山之橡樹。

必伐利巴嫩諸高大之柏香木、巴珊之諸橡樹、

for all the cedars of Lebanon, tall and lofty, and all the oaks of Bashan,

The Lord has set that day apart for all the cedar trees in Lebanon. They are very tall. He has set that day apart for all the oak trees in Bashan.

against all the cedars of Lebanon, lofty and lifted up; and against all the oaks of Bashan;

He will cut down the tall cedars of Lebanon and all the mighty oaks of Bashan.

And it will be against all the cedars of Lebanon that are lofty and lifted up, Against all the oaks of Bashan,

Upon all the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up, And upon all the oaks of Bashan;

and upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,

against all the cedars of Lebanon, lofty and lifted up, against all the oaks of Bashan,

And upon all the cedars of Lebanon,[ that are] high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,

for all the cedars of Lebanon, that are so high and mighty, for all the oaks of Bashan;

for all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, for all the oaks of Bashan,

Even the cypresses and the cedars of Lebanon rejoice over you:“ Since you have been laid low, no lumberjack has come against us.”

Open your gates, Lebanon, and fire will consume your cedars.Wail, cypress, for the cedar has fallen; the glorious trees are destroyed! Wail, oaks of Bashan, for the stately forest has fallen!

You have mocked the Lord through your servants. You have said,“ With my many chariots I have gone up to the heights of the mountains, to the far recesses of Lebanon. I cut down its tallest cedars, its choice cypress trees. I came to its distant heights, its densest forest.

Look, the Lord GOD of Armies will chop off the branches with terrifying power, and the tall trees will be cut down, the high trees felled.He is clearing the thickets of the forest with an ax, and Lebanon with its majesty will fall.

Therefore, I will send fire against Judah, and it will consume the citadels of Jerusalem.

Think of Assyria, a cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches and shady foliage and of lofty height. Its top was among the clouds.The waters caused it to grow; the underground springs made it tall, directing their rivers all around the place where the tree was planted and sending their channels to all the trees of the field.Therefore the cedar became greater in height than all the trees of the field. Its branches multiplied, and its boughs grew long as it spread them out because of the abundant water.All the birds of the sky nested in its branches, and all the animals of the field gave birth beneath its boughs; all the great nations lived in its shade.It was beautiful in its size, in the length of its limbs, for its roots extended to abundant water.The cedars in God’s garden could not eclipse it; the pine trees couldn’t compare with its branches, nor could the plane trees match its boughs. No tree in the garden of God could compare with it in beauty.I made it beautiful with its many limbs, and all the trees of Eden, which were in God’s garden, envied it.“‘ Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Since it towered high in stature and set its top among the clouds, and it grew proud on account of its height,I determined to hand it over to a ruler of nations; he would surely deal with it. I banished it because of its wickedness.Foreigners, ruthless men from the nations, cut it down and left it lying. Its limbs fell on the mountains and in every valley; its boughs lay broken in all the earth’s ravines. All the peoples of the earth left its shade and abandoned it.
