You built a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or have regard for the One who planned it long ago.

You built a pool between the two walls. You used it to save the water that was running down from the Old Pool. But you didn’t look to the God who made it all possible. You didn’t pay any attention to the God who planned everything long ago.

You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you did not look to him who did it, or see him who planned it long ago.

Between the city walls, you build a reservoir for water from the old pool. But you never ask for help from the One who did all this. You never considered the One who planned this long ago.

城被攻破，城里的所有士兵便在夜间穿过御花园，从两城墙中间的门逃往亚拉巴。当时迦勒底人仍四面包围着城。

但如今，我拣选了耶路撒冷作为我名所在之地，又拣选了大卫来治理我的以色列子民。’”

那些到埃及寻求帮助的人有祸了！他们仰赖战马，倚靠众多的战车和强壮的骑兵，却不仰望以色列的圣者，不寻求耶和华。

再下一段由押卜的儿子、管理半个伯·夙的尼希米修筑，他一直修到大卫墓地对面，远至人工池和勇士堂。

到那日，人们必仰望他们的创造主，向以色列的圣者求助。

犹大王西底迦和所有军兵见势不妙，便在夜间穿过御花园，从两城墙中间的门逃往亚拉巴。

“耶和华创造大地，使其成形、根基稳固，祂名叫耶和华。祂说，‘你呼求我，我就回应你，并且把你不知道的伟大、奥妙之事告诉你。

虽然耶和华掩面不顾雅各家，但我仍要等候祂，冀望于祂。

“‘难道你不知这是我在远古所定的吗？如今我要实现我昔日所定的计划，就是借着你使坚城沦为废墟。

那时，哈拿尼先见晋见犹大王亚撒说：“因为你不倚靠你的上帝耶和华，反而倚靠亚兰王，所以亚兰王的军队已经从你手中逃脱。古实人与路比人不是一支强大的军队吗？他们的战车骑兵不是极多吗？然而，因为你倚靠耶和华，耶和华就把他们交在你手中。耶和华的眼目遍察天下，彰显大能来扶助那些全心归向祂的人。你做了愚蠢的事！从此以后，你必遭遇战祸。”

希西迦其他的事迹和成就，包括怎样建造水池和挖沟引水入城，都记在犹大的列王史上。

就与众官员和将领商议，决定截断城外的水源，众人也都赞成。于是，他们召集大批民众，截断所有的水源和过境的溪流，不让亚述王得到充足的水。

至于我，我要仰望耶和华，等候拯救我的上帝；我的上帝必垂听我的祈求。
