You built a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or have regard for the One who planned it long ago.

You built a pool between the two walls. You used it to save the water that was running down from the Old Pool. But you didn’t look to the God who made it all possible. You didn’t pay any attention to the God who planned everything long ago.

You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you did not look to him who did it, or see him who planned it long ago.

Between the city walls, you build a reservoir for water from the old pool. But you never ask for help from the One who did all this. You never considered the One who planned this long ago.

You made a reservoir between the walls for the water of the ancient pool, but you did not look to the one who made it, or consider the one who created it long ago.

And you made a reservoir between the two walls For the waters of the old pool. But you did not depend on Him who made it, Nor did you take into consideration Him who planned it long ago.

城被攻破，王和所有的戰士就在夜間從靠近王家園子兩城牆中間的門那路向出城逃跑；那時迦勒底人正在四圍攻城；他們就按亞拉巴路向走。

我只選擇了耶路撒冷，讓我的名長在那裏；又揀選了大衛來管理我人民以色列。」

有禍啊！那些下埃及去求幫助的！他們依靠馬匹，倚賴車輛，因為很多；他們倚賴馬兵，因為馬兵極強壯，他們卻不仰望以色列之聖者，永恆主、他們竟不求問！

接着是伯夙半區的區長押卜的兒子尼希米修造了，直到大衛墳地的對面，又到人造池子和勇士堂。

當那日子、人必仰望造他們的主，他們必親眼看着以色列之聖者。

猶大王西底家和所有的軍兵看見他們，便逃跑，就在夜間從王家園子的路、兩城牆中間的門、出城，按亞拉巴的路向出走。

『那行其旨意的永恆主、那制定旨意、使它堅立的永恆主、其名叫耶和華的、這麼說：你呼求我，我就應你，將你所不知的、一些又大又難作到的事指示你。

我要等候那掩面不顧雅各家的永恆主；我要仰望他。

永恆主說：『你豈沒有聽見從遠古我就制定，在古日我就計畫，到現在我就作成，使有堡壘的城荒廢，變為倒壞的亂堆？

就在那時先見哈拿尼就來見猶大王亞撒，對他說：『因你依靠着亞蘭王，沒有依靠永恆主你的上帝、故此亞蘭王的軍隊才逃脫了你的手。古實人路比人不是有很大軍隊麼？他們所有的戰車駿馬不是極多麼？只因你依靠着永恆主，永恆主便將他們交在你手裏。永恆主的眼目在全地上看來看去；凡以純全之心向他的人、他就顯大權能去幫助他。在這一點上你幹了糊塗事了！從今以後、你總有戰事了。』

希西家其餘的事，他一切勇力的事蹟、和他怎樣造池造溝，引水入城，不是都寫在《猶大諸王記》上麼？

就同大臣和勇士們商議，要塞住城外各泉源的水；他們全都贊成。於是有許多人集合了起來，塞住一切的泉源和通流於地中的溪河，說：『為甚麼要讓亞述諸王來、得到這許多水呢？』

至於我呢、我卻要企望着永恆主，我要等候那拯救我、的上帝；我的上帝必聽我。
