You built a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or have regard for the One who planned it long ago.

You built a pool between the two walls. You used it to save the water that was running down from the Old Pool. But you didn’t look to the God who made it all possible. You didn’t pay any attention to the God who planned everything long ago.

You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you did not look to him who did it, or see him who planned it long ago.

Between the city walls, you build a reservoir for water from the old pool. But you never ask for help from the One who did all this. You never considered the One who planned this long ago.

城被攻破，士兵全都在夜间从靠近王的花园、两城墙中间的门逃跑。迦勒底人正在四围攻城，王就往亚拉巴逃去。

但我选择耶路撒冷，使我的名留在那里，又拣选大卫治理我的百姓以色列。’

祸哉！那些下埃及求帮助的，他们仰赖马匹，倚靠甚多的战车，并倚靠强壮的骑兵，却不仰望以色列的圣者，也不求问耶和华。

接续他修造的是管理伯‧夙区的一半、押卜的儿子尼希米，直到大卫坟地的对面，又到人造池，到达勇士的房屋。

当那日，人必仰望造他们的主，眼目看着以色列的圣者。

犹大王西底家和所有士兵看见他们，就在夜间从靠近王的花园、两城墙中间的门逃跑出城，往亚拉巴逃去。

“成事的耶和华，塑造它为要建立它的耶和华，名为耶和华的那位如此说：‘你求告我，我就应允你，并将你所不知道、又大又隐密的事指示你。

我要等候那转脸不顾雅各家的耶和华，也要仰望他。

“‘你岂没有听见我早先所定、古时所立、现今实现的事吗？就是让你去毁坏坚固的城镇，使它们变为废墟；

那时，哈拿尼先见来见犹大王亚撒，对他说：“因你仰赖亚兰王，没有仰赖耶和华—你的上帝，所以亚兰王的军兵逃脱了你的手。古实人和路比人的军队不是非常强大吗？他们的战车骑兵不是极多吗？只因你仰赖耶和华，他就将他们交在你手里。因为耶和华的眼目遍察全地，要坚固向他存纯正之心的人。你在这事上行得愚昧；因此，以后你必有战争。”

希西家其余的事和他一切英勇的事迹，他怎样造池、挖沟、引水入城，不都写在《犹大列王记》上吗？

就与领袖和勇士商议，塞住城外的泉源；他们都帮助他。于是许多百姓聚集，塞住一切泉源，以及国中流通的小河，说：“亚述诸王来，为何让他们得着许多水呢？”

至于我，我要仰望耶和华，等候那救我的上帝；我的上帝必应允我。
