Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare. (niv)

All this also comes from the Lord Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent. (niv)

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, (niv)

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. (niv)

And they sang a new song, saying:“ You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. It is my pleasure to tell you about the miraculous signs and wonders that the Most High God has performed for me.How great are his signs, how mighty his wonders! His kingdom is an eternal kingdom; his dominion endures from generation to generation. (niv)

David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,“ Praise be to you, Lord, the God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.“ But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.We are foreigners and strangers in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you.I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.Lord, the God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, keep these desires and thoughts in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you.And give my son Solomon the wholehearted devotion to keep your commands, statutes and decrees and to do everything to build the palatial structure for which I have provided.”Then David said to the whole assembly,“ Praise the Lord your God.” So they all praised the Lord, the God of their fathers; they bowed down, prostrating themselves before the Lord and the king. “ Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.You show love to thousands but bring the punishment for the parents’ sins into the laps of their children after them. Great and mighty God, whose name is the Lord Almighty,great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to the ways of all mankind; you reward each person according to their conduct and as their deeds deserve.You performed signs and wonders in Egypt and have continued them to this day, in Israel and among all mankind, and have gained the renown that is still yours.You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with great terror.You gave them this land you had sworn to give their ancestors, a land flowing with milk and honey.They came in and took possession of it, but they did not obey you or follow your law; they did not do what you commanded them to do. So you brought all this disaster on them.“ See how the siege ramps are built up to take the city. Because of the sword, famine and plague, the city will be given into the hands of the Babylonians who are attacking it. What you said has happened, as you now see. (niv)

I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. (niv)

I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. (niv)

The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. (niv)

Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy. (niv)

I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say,‘ My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ (niv)

He says,“ Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (niv)

I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in,and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written:“ The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness, prisoners suffering in iron chains,because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the plans of the Most High.So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron.Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death.Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.Some went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters.They saw the works of the Lord, his wonderful deeds in the deep.For he spoke and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves.They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away.They reeled and staggered like drunkards; they were at their wits’ end.Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven.Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground,and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there.He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs;there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle.They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest;he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish.Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow;he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste.But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths.Let the one who is wise heed these things and ponder the loving deeds of the Lord. “‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You are the one I spoke of in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel. At that time they prophesied for years that I would bring you against them.This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign Lord.In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground.I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Every man’s sword will be against his brother.I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him.And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’ (niv)

and sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb:“ Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. (niv)

saying:“ Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” (niv)

We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done. (niv)

Lord our God, other lords besides you have ruled over us, but your name alone do we honor. (niv)

I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. (niv)

Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. (niv)
