禍哉！那些下埃及求幫助的人！他們依仗馬匹，依靠戰車眾多、馬兵強大，卻不仰望以色列的聖者，也不尋求耶和華。

彼往埃及求助、恃其車馬之眾、驍騎之強、不仰望以色列之聖者、不尋求耶和華、禍哉其人、

人往埃及、求其助己、見車馬眾多、驍騎勇猛、則以之是恃、不恃以色列族之聖主耶和華而求其眷祐、其禍必不遠矣、

下伊及求助、倚賴戰馬、因車乘眾多而恃之、馬卒甚強而賴之、不仰望以色列之聖主、不祈求主、是人也、禍哉禍哉、

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the Lord.

How terrible it will be for those who go down to Egypt for help! How terrible for those who depend on horses! They trust in how many chariots they have. They trust in how strong their horsemen are. But they don’t look to the Holy One of Israel. They don’t ask the Lord for his help.

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the Lord!

What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and who depend on horses! They trust in the abundance of chariots and in the large number of horsemen. They do not look to the Holy One of Israel, and they do not seek the LORD.

Those who go down to Egypt for help are as good as dead, those who rely on war horses, and trust in Egypt’s many chariots and in their many, many horsemen. But they do not rely on the Holy One of Israel and do not seek help from the LORD.

有人靠戰車，有人靠戰馬，但我們靠的是我們的上帝耶和華的名。

王不可擁有大量馬匹，也不可派人到埃及去購買馬匹，因為耶和華已經告訴你們不可回埃及。

你們說，『不，我們要騎馬奔逃。』所以你們必奔逃。你們又說，『我們要騎快馬逃跑。』所以追趕你們的人必疾馳如飛。

耶和華說：「信靠世人、倚靠血肉之軀、背叛耶和華的人該受咒詛！

因為我的子民犯了兩項罪，他們離棄了我這活水源泉，為自己挖了不能蓄水的破池子。

看啊，你所倚靠的埃及不過是一根破裂的蘆葦，倚靠它的必被刺破手。倚靠埃及王法老的下場都是這樣。』

耶和華對以色列家說：「你們要尋求我，才能存活。不要去伯特利求問，不要進入吉甲，也不要前往別示巴，因為吉甲人必被擄去，伯特利也必化為烏有。」你們要尋求耶和華，才能存活。否則，祂要在約瑟家如烈火爆發，吞噬伯特利，無人能撲滅。你們這些使正義變為苦艾、將公義丟棄在地的人啊，那位造昴星和參星，使幽暗變為黎明，使白晝變為黑夜，召來海水澆在大地上的——祂的名字是耶和華。

君王不能靠兵多取勝，勇士不能憑力大獲救。靠戰馬取勝實屬妄想，馬雖力大也不能救人。

這一切災禍降在了我們身上，正如摩西律法書的記載。然而，我們的上帝耶和華啊，我們卻沒有離開罪惡，認識你的真理，以便懇求你施恩。

你們即使依靠埃及的戰車和騎兵，又怎能打敗我主人的一個最小的將領呢？

但以色列人沒有歸向萬軍之耶和華，也不尋求祂。

後來，猶大王背叛了巴比倫王，派使者到埃及請求支援軍隊馬匹。他能成功嗎？他這樣做怎能逃脫懲罰呢？他這樣背約怎能逃脫懲罰呢？

耶和華說：「我悖逆的兒女有禍了！他們不遵行我的旨意，按自己的計劃行事；未經我同意，擅自與人結盟，不斷犯罪。他們不求問我便去埃及，想得到法老的保護和蔭庇。然而，法老的保護和蔭庇必成為他們的恥辱。雖然他們的官長和使臣已到瑣安和哈內斯，但他們必蒙羞，因為埃及人對他們毫無用處，沒有任何幫助和益處，帶給他們的只有羞愧和恥辱。」以下是關於南地動物的預言：他們的使臣用驢馱著財物，用駱駝馱著珍寶，穿過公獅、母獅、蝮蛇和飛蛇出沒的艱險之地，前往一個對他們毫無用處的國家。埃及的幫助是徒然的，所以我稱她為「沒用的海怪」。

那時，哈拿尼先見晉見猶大王亞撒說：「因為你不倚靠你的上帝耶和華，反而倚靠亞蘭王，所以亞蘭王的軍隊已經從你手中逃脫。

我們不再向亞述求救，不再依靠戰馬，也不再稱自己所造的神像為我們的上帝。耶和華啊，只有在你那裡，孤兒才能得到憐憫。」

又在兩道城牆之間建造新的蓄水池，用來盛舊池的水。耶和華從古時已定了這一切，要使這一切發生，但你們既不仰望祂，也不理會祂。

到那日，人們必仰望他們的創造主，向以色列的聖者求助。那時他們不再仰望自己製造的祭壇，也不再供奉自己指頭所造的亞舍拉神像和香壇。

席上，他們在琴、瑟、鼓、笛聲中飲酒作樂，卻毫不理會耶和華的作為。

無人呼求你，無人向你求助，因為你掩面不理我們，讓我們在自己的罪中滅亡。

他們像炙熱的烤爐，吞滅他們的首領。他們的君王都倒地而亡，沒有一個向我求救。

他們有禍了，因為他們背棄我！他們要被毀滅了，因為他們背叛我！我要救贖他們，他們卻向我撒謊。他們沒有真心呼求我，只是在床上哭號。他們為求五穀和新酒而割傷自己，卻背棄了我。我訓練他們，使他們臂膀強壯，他們卻陰謀作惡抗拒我。他們回轉，卻不肯轉向至高者，他們就像無用的斷弓。他們的首領要因出言狂妄而喪身刀下，成為埃及人的笑柄。

他們境內金銀遍地，財寶無窮；他們境內馬匹充裕，戰車無數。

你們帶著橄欖油和許多香料去拜假神，差遣使者到遠方，甚至去陰間尋找神明。
