But the Egyptians are mere mortals and not God; their horses are flesh and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, those who help will stumble, those who are helped will fall; all will perish together.

The men of Egypt are only human beings. They aren’t God. Their horses are only flesh and blood. They aren’t spirits. The Lord will reach out his powerful hand to punish everyone. The Egyptians provide help. But they will be tripped up. The people of Judah receive the help. But they will fall down. All of them will be destroyed.

The Egyptians are man, and not God, and their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, the helper will stumble, and he who is helped will fall, and they will all perish together.

For these Egyptians are mere humans, not God! Their horses are puny flesh, not mighty spirits! When the Lord raises his fist against them, those who help will stumble, and those being helped will fall. They will all fall down and die together.

在殺戮你的人面前，你還能說“我是神”嗎？在那些殺害你的人手裡，你不過是人，並不是神。

“‘我指著我的永生起誓：我必用大能的手，伸出來的膀臂，以及倒出來的烈怒，統治你們。這是主耶和華的宣告。我必用大能的手，伸出來的膀臂，以及倒出來的烈怒，把你們從萬族中領出來，從你們所分散到的列邦招聚你們。

你離棄了我，你轉身背著我；因此我要伸手攻擊你，毀滅你，我不會再回心轉意。”這是耶和華的宣告。

如果不是他們的磐石把他們出賣了，如果不是耶和華把他們交出來，一人怎能追趕一千人，二人怎能使萬人逃跑呢？連我們的仇敵也自己斷定，他們的磐石不像我們的磐石。

群眾大聲說：“這是神的聲音，不是人的聲音！”他不歸榮耀給神，所以主的使者立刻擊打他，他被蟲咬，就斷了氣。

但他們都必因那對於他們毫無利益的人民而蒙羞，那人民帶來的不是幫助或益處，而是羞恥和凌辱。”

你們不要倚靠權貴，不要倚靠世人，他們一點都不能救助你們。他們的氣一斷，就歸回塵土；他們所計劃的，當天就幻滅了。以雅各的神為自己的幫助，仰望耶和華他的神的，這人就是有福的。

若不能，你怎能擊退我主的臣僕中最小的軍長呢？你竟倚靠埃及的戰車和馬兵嗎？

埃及的幫助是徒然的，是虛幻的，因此我稱它為“坐而不動的拉哈伯”。

想靠馬得勝是枉然的；馬雖然力大，也不能救人。

看哪！你所倚靠的埃及，是那壓傷的蘆葦杖；人若倚靠它，它就會插進他的手，把手刺透。埃及王法老對所有倚靠他的人，也是這樣。

他抵擋神，抬舉自己，高過一切稱為神或受人敬拜的，甚至坐在神的殿中，自稱為神。我還在你們那裡的時候，曾經把這些事告訴你們，你們不記得嗎？現在你們也知道，那箝制他，使他到了時候才可以顯露出來的是甚麼。因為那不法的潛力已經發動，只是現在有一個箝制他的在那裡，直等到那箝制解除了，那時，這不法的人必要顯露出來。主耶穌要用自己口中的氣除掉他，以自己再來所顯現的光輝消滅他。

“耶和華以色列的神這樣說：你們要對差派你們來求問我的猶大王這樣說：‘看哪！那出來幫助你們的法老的軍隊，必回到他們的埃及本地去。迦勒底人必回來，攻擊這城，佔領這城，放火燒毀這城。’耶和華這樣說：你們不要自己欺騙自己，說：‘迦勒底人必定離開我們！’因為他們必不離開。即使你們擊敗了那攻打你們的迦勒底全軍，他們中間只剩下一些受重傷的人，他們也必各從自己的帳棚裡起來，放火燒毀這城。’”

耶和華啊！求你使他們驚懼，願列國都知道自己不過是人。（細拉）
