那些长大麻风的到了营边，进了帐棚，吃了喝了，且从其中拿出金银和衣服来，去收藏了；回来又进了一座帐棚，从其中拿出财物来去收藏了。

神却拣选了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又拣选了世上软弱的，叫那强壮的羞愧。

统兵的君王逃跑了，逃跑了；在家等候的妇女分受所夺的。

在那里，耶和华必显威严与我们同在，当作江河宽阔之地；其中必没有荡桨摇橹的船来往，也没有威武的船经过。

你们所掳的必被敛尽，好像蚂蚱吃尽禾稼。人要蹦在其上，好像蝗虫一样。

祸哉！你这毁灭人的，自己倒不被毁灭；行事诡诈的，人倒不以诡诈待你。你毁灭罢休了，自己必被毁灭；你行完了诡诈，人必以诡诈待你。

水手想要逃出船去，把小船放在海里，假作要从船头抛锚的样子。保罗对百夫长和兵丁说：“这些人若不等在船上，你们必不能得救。”于是兵丁砍断小船的绳子，由它飘去。

荡桨的已经把你荡到大水之处，东风在海中将你打破。你的资财、物件、货物、水手、掌舵的、补缝的、经营交易的，并你中间的战士和人民，在你破坏的日子必都沉在海中。你掌舵的呼号之声一发，郊野都必震动。凡荡桨的和水手，并一切泛海掌舵的，都必下船登岸。他们必为你放声痛哭，把尘土撒在头上，在灰中打滚；又为你使头上光秃，用麻布束腰，号啕痛哭，苦苦悲哀。他们哀号的时候，为你作起哀歌哀哭，说：‘有何城如推罗？有何城如她在海中成为寂寞的呢？’你由海上运出货物，就使许多国民充足；你以许多资财、货物使地上的君王丰富。你在深水中被海浪打破的时候，你的货物和你中间的一切人民，就都沉下去了。

到第三天，他们又亲手把船上的器具抛弃了。

跟随大卫人中的恶人和匪类说：“这些人既然没有和我们同去，我们所夺的财物就不分给他们，只将他们各人的妻子儿女给他们，使他们带去就是了。”大卫说：“弟兄们，耶和华所赐给我们的，不可不分给他们；因为他保佑我们，将那攻击我们的敌军交在我们手里。这事谁肯依从你们呢？上阵的得多少，看守器具的也得多少；应当大家平分。”
