In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah’s reign, Sennacherib king of Assyria attacked all the fortified cities of Judah and captured them.

Sennacherib attacked and captured all the cities of Judah that had high walls around them. It was in the 14th year of the rule of Hezekiah. Sennacherib was king of Assyria.

Poor Anathoth!Madmenah is in flight; the people of Gebim take cover.This day they will halt at Nob; they will shake their fist at the mount of Daughter Zion, at the hill of Jerusalem. (niv)

Your country is desolate, your cities burned with fire; your fields are being stripped by foreigners right before you, laid waste as when overthrown by strangers.Daughter Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a cucumber field, like a city under siege. (niv)
