The poor and the needy seek water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. I will answer them. I am the LORD, the God of Israel. I will not abandon them.

“ The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

“ Those who are poor and needy search for water. But there isn’t any. Their tongues are dry because they are thirsty. But I will help them. I am the Lord. I will not desert them. I am Israel’s God.

The oppressed and the poor look for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched from thirst. I, the LORD, will respond to their prayers; I, the God of Israel, will not abandon them.

For people will live on Zion in Jerusalem. You will never weep again; he will show favor to you at the sound of your outcry; as soon as he hears, he will answer you.

“ Come, everyone who is thirsty, come to the water; and you without silver, come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without silver and without cost!

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on paths they have not known. I will turn darkness to light in front of them and rough places into level ground. This is what I will do for them, and I will not abandon them.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners;

On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and cried out,“ If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.The one who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.”He said this about the Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit, for the Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

You, God, showered abundant rain; you revived your inheritance when it languished.Your people settled in it; God, you provided for the poor by your goodness.

But the people thirsted there for water and grumbled against Moses. They said,“ Why did you ever bring us up from Egypt to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”

Call on me in a day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you will honor me.”

Look, I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go. I will bring you back to this land, for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

God, you are my God; I eagerly seek you. I thirst for you; my body faints for you in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water.So I gaze on you in the sanctuary to see your strength and your glory.

He became very thirsty and called out to the LORD,“ You have accomplished this great victory through your servant. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”So God split a hollow place in the ground at Lehi, and water came out of it. After Samson drank, his strength returned, and he revived. That is why he named it Hakkore Spring, which is still in Lehi today.

for the LORD will rebuild Zion; he will appear in his glory.He will pay attention to the prayer of the destitute and will not despise their prayer.

Wild animals— jackals and ostriches— will honor me, because I provide water in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people.

Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.Therefore, we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

Jesus answered,“ If you knew the gift of God, and who is saying to you,‘ Give me a drink,’ you would ask him, and he would give you living water.”“ Sir,” said the woman,“ you don’t even have a bucket, and the well is deep. So where do you get this‘ living water’?You aren’t greater than our father Jacob, are you? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and livestock.”Jesus said,“ Everyone who drinks from this water will get thirsty again.But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again. In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up in him for eternal life.”“ Sir,” the woman said to him,“ give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and come here to draw water.”

They were hungry and thirsty; their spirits failed within them.Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; he rescued them from their distress.

This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him from all his troubles.

For I will pour water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants and my blessing on your offspring.

Both the Spirit and the bride say,“ Come!” Let anyone who hears, say,“ Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come. Let the one who desires take the water of life freely.

‘ Father Abraham!’ he called out,‘ Have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this flame!’

My strength is dried up like baked clay; my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You put me into the dust of death.

My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the LORD’s declaration. I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at my word.

The nursing baby’s tongue clings to the roof of his mouth from thirst. Infants beg for food, but no one gives them any.

For he will rescue the poor who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper.He will have pity on the poor and helpless and save the lives of the poor.

I thirst for God, the living God. When can I come and appear before God?

I am going to stand there in front of you on the rock at Horeb; when you hit the rock, water will come out of it and the people will drink.” Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.

The LORD will not leave his people or abandon his heritage,

Then he said to me,“ It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will freely give to the thirsty from the spring of the water of life.

But he said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.

Look, the days are coming— this is the declaration of the Lord GOD— when I will send a famine through the land: not a famine of bread or a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD.People will stagger from sea to sea and roam from north to east seeking the word of the LORD, but they will not find it.In that day the beautiful young women, the young men also, will faint from thirst.
