But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says,“ Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.

But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel:“ Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

Family of Jacob, the Lord created you. People of Israel, he formed you. He says,“ Do not be afraid. I will set you free. I will send for you by name. You belong to me.

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel:“ Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.

Now this is what the LORD says— the one who created you, Jacob, and the one who formed you, Israel—“ Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine.

But now, this is what the Lord says, He who is your Creator, Jacob, And He who formed you, Israel:“ Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!

But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel:“ Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.

But now thus saith Jehovah that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by thy name, thou art mine.

Now this is what the Lord says— the One who created you, Jacob, and the One who formed you, Israel—“ Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.

But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called[ thee] by thy name; thou[ art] mine.

Now, this is what the LORD says, the one who created you, O Jacob, and formed you, O Israel:“ Don’t be afraid, for I will protect you. I call you by name, you are mine.

But now Yahweh who created you, Jacob, and he who formed you, Israel, says:“ Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine.

I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say,‘ These are my people,’ and they will say,‘ The Lord is our God.’”

Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them.’”

“ Fear not; you will no longer live in shame. Don’t be afraid; there is no more disgrace for you. You will no longer remember the shame of your youth and the sorrows of widowhood.For your Creator will be your husband; the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name! He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the earth.

He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness— secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.“ And why have I called you for this work? Why did I call you by name when you did not know me? It is for the sake of Jacob my servant, Israel my chosen one.

Though you are a lowly worm, O Jacob, don’t be afraid, people of Israel, for I will help you. I am the Lord, your Redeemer. I am the Holy One of Israel.’

And they sang a new song with these words:“ You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.

Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

But when God found fault with the people, he said:“ The day is coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah.This covenant will not be like the one I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and led them out of the land of Egypt. They did not remain faithful to my covenant, so I turned my back on them, says the Lord.But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

“ I, the Lord, have called you to demonstrate my righteousness. I will take you by the hand and guard you, and I will give you to my people, Israel, as a symbol of my covenant with them. And you will be a light to guide the nations.

I have made Israel for myself, and they will someday honor me before the whole world.

The Lord who made you and helps you says: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, O dear Israel, my chosen one.

Long ago the Lord said to Israel:“ I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said.

“ Your name will no longer be Jacob,” the man told him.“ From now on you will be called Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have won.”

And when I passed by again, I saw that you were old enough for love. So I wrapped my cloak around you to cover your nakedness and declared my marriage vows. I made a covenant with you, says the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine.

But the one who redeems them is strong. His name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. He will defend them and give them rest again in Israel. But for the people of Babylon there will be no rest!

Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord.

The Lord replied to Moses,“ I will indeed do what you have asked, for I look favorably on you, and I know you by name.”

“ They will be my people,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child.

“ Pay attention, O Jacob, for you are my servant, O Israel. I, the Lord, made you, and I will not forget you.I have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist. Oh, return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free.”Sing, O heavens, for the Lord has done this wondrous thing. Shout for joy, O depths of the earth! Break into song, O mountains and forests and every tree! For the Lord has redeemed Jacob and is glorified in Israel.This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer and Creator:“ I am the Lord, who made all things. I alone stretched out the heavens. Who was with me when I made the earth?

But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription:“ The Lord knows those who are his,” and“ All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”

“ For the people of Israel belong to the Lord; Jacob is his special possession.

They will be called“ The Holy People” and“ The People Redeemed by the Lord.” And Jerusalem will be known as“ The Desirable Place” and“ The City No Longer Forsaken.”

Some will proudly claim,‘ I belong to the Lord.’ Others will say,‘ I am a descendant of Jacob.’ Some will write the Lord’s name on their hands and will take the name of Israel as their own.”This is what the Lord says— Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies:“ I am the First and the Last; there is no other God.

This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:“ I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow.

Listen to me, all you in distant lands! Pay attention, you who are far away! The Lord called me before my birth; from within the womb he called me by name.

This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:“ For your sakes I will send an army against Babylon, forcing the Babylonians to flee in those ships they are so proud of.I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator and King.

“ With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed. In your might, you guide them to your sacred home.

Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’ This is the message you must give to the people of Israel.”

I will never abandon the descendants of Jacob or David, my servant, or change the plan that David’s descendants will rule the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Instead, I will restore them to their land and have mercy on them.”

“ Have you noticed what people are saying?—‘ The Lord chose Judah and Israel and then abandoned them!’ They are sneering and saying that Israel is not worthy to be counted as a nation.

Lions will not lurk along its course, nor any other ferocious beasts. There will be no other dangers. Only the redeemed will walk on it.Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness.

Surely you are still our Father! Even if Abraham and Jacob would disown us, Lord, you would still be our Father. You are our Redeemer from ages past.

The terrible storm raged for many days, blotting out the sun and the stars, until at last all hope was gone.
