惟雅各家以色列族、敬恪已弛、不肯上籲、

雅各乎、爾反不籲我、以色列乎、爾反不因我而勤勞、

“ Yet you have not called on me, Jacob, you have not wearied yourselves for me, Israel.

“ Family of Jacob, you have not prayed to me as you should. People of Israel, you have not worn yourselves out for me.

“ Yet you did not call upon me, O Jacob; but you have been weary of me, O Israel!

“ But, dear family of Jacob, you refuse to ask for my help. You have grown tired of me, O Israel!

“ But, Jacob, you have not called on me, because, Israel, you have become weary of me.

“ Yet you have not called on Me, Jacob; But you have become weary of Me, Israel.

“ But you have not called upon Me, O Jacob; And you have been weary of Me, O Israel.

Yet thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.

“ But Jacob, you have not called on Me, because, Israel, you have become weary of Me.

But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.

“ But you did not call for me, O Jacob; you did not long for me, O Israel.

Yet you have not called on me, Jacob; but you have been weary of me, Israel.

“ My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me. (niv)

“ You have said,‘ It is futile to serve God. What do we gain by carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the Lord Almighty? (niv)

And you say,‘ What a burden!’ and you sniff at it contemptuously,” says the Lord Almighty.“ When you bring injured, lame or diseased animals and offer them as sacrifices, should I accept them from your hands?” says the Lord. (niv)

You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. (niv)

Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the peoples who do not call on your name. For they have devoured Jacob; they have devoured him completely and destroyed his homeland. (niv)

No one calls on your name or strives to lay hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us and have given us over to our sins. (niv)

Does God listen to their cry when distress comes upon them?Will they find delight in the Almighty? Will they call on God at all times? (niv)

Yet they say to God,‘ Leave us alone! We have no desire to know your ways.Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What would we gain by praying to him?’ (niv)

Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the kingdoms that do not call on your name; (niv)

Return, Israel, to the Lord your God. Your sins have been your downfall!Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to him:“ Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips. (niv)

Has a nation ever changed its gods?( Yet they are not gods at all.) But my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols.Be appalled at this, you heavens, and shudder with great horror,” declares the Lord.“ My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. (niv)

Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread; they never call on the Lord. (niv)

This is what the Lord says:“ What fault did your ancestors find in me, that they strayed so far from me? They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves. (niv)

“ You of this generation, consider the word of the Lord:“ Have I been a desert to Israel or a land of great darkness? Why do my people say,‘ We are free to roam; we will come to you no more’?Does a young woman forget her jewelry, a bride her wedding ornaments? Yet my people have forgotten me, days without number. (niv)

From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.“ You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.Simon Peter answered him,“ Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” (niv)

Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth. (niv)

Israel’s arrogance testifies against him, but despite all this he does not return to the Lord his God or search for him.“ Ephraim is like a dove, easily deceived and senseless— now calling to Egypt, now turning to Assyria.When they go, I will throw my net over them; I will pull them down like the birds in the sky. When I hear them flocking together, I will catch them.Woe to them, because they have strayed from me! Destruction to them, because they have rebelled against me! I long to redeem them but they speak about me falsely.They do not cry out to me from their hearts but wail on their beds. They slash themselves, appealing to their gods for grain and new wine, but they turn away from me. (niv)
