他对我说：“人子啊！以色列家的众长老各在自己偶像的房间里暗中所行的，你看见了吗？他们说：‘耶和华看不见我们，耶和华已经离开这地了。’”

现在你既然渴想你的父家，一定要回去，为什么又偷我的神像呢？”

他们用必朽坏的人、飞禽、走兽和昆虫的形象，取代了永不朽坏的神的荣耀。

木匠坚固金匠，用锤打光金属的，鼓励打砧的；论銲工说：“銲得好！”又用钉子钉稳了。使偶像不致动摇。

米迦回答：“你们把我所做的神像和我的祭司都带走了，我还有什么呢？你们怎么还问我：‘你作什么’呢？”

雅各就对他的家人，和所有与他在一起的人说：“你们要除去你们中间外族人的神像，你们要洁净自己，更换你们的衣服。

我们既然是神的子孙，就不应该以为他的神性是好像人用手艺、心思所雕刻的金银石头一样。

恐怕你们败坏自己，为自己制造偶像，制造任何神像的形象，无论是男像或是女像，或是地上各种走兽的像，或是飞翔在空中各类有翅膀的雀鸟的像，或是地上各种爬行的动物的像，或是地底下水里各样鱼类的像。

“‘制造耶和华厌恶的雕像或铸像，工人手中做的，并且在暗处设立的，那人必受咒诅。’众民都要应声说：‘阿们。’

至于你的神像，你在谁身上搜出来，那人就不该活着；你当着我们众兄弟面前查一查，如果在我这里有什么东西是你的，你只管拿去。”原来雅各不知拉结偷了神像。
