他对我说：“人子啊，你看见以色列家的长老，暗中在自己偶像的房间里所做的吗？因为他们说：‘耶和华看不见我们；耶和华已经离弃这地。’”

现在你既然这么想念你的父家，不得不去，为什么又偷了我的神明呢？”

将不能朽坏之上帝的荣耀变为偶像，仿照必朽坏的人、飞禽、走兽、爬虫的形像。

当时拉班去剪羊毛，拉结偷了他父亲家中的神像。

“不可为自己雕刻偶像，也不可做什么形像，仿佛上天、下地和地底下水中的百物。不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它们，因为我耶和华—你的上帝是忌邪的上帝。恨我的，我必惩罚他们的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代；

在那里，你们必事奉人手所造的神明，它们是木头，是石头，不能看，不能听，不能吃，不能闻。

木匠鼓励银匠，用锤子打光的鼓励打砧的，对焊工说：“焊得好！”又用钉子钉稳，免得它倒下。

米迦说：“你们把我所造的神像，还有祭司，都带走了，我还有什么呢？你怎么还对我说‘你在做什么’呢？”

雅各就对他家中的人，以及所有和他一起的人说：“除掉你们中间外邦的神明，要自洁，更换衣服。

既然我们是上帝所生的，就不应该以为上帝的神性像人用手艺和心思所雕刻的金、银、石像一般。

惟恐你们的行为败坏，为自己雕刻任何形状的偶像，无论是男像或女像，或地上任何走兽的像，或任何飞在空中有翅膀的鸟的像，或地上任何爬行动物的像，或地底下任何水中鱼的像。

“‘凡制造耶和华所憎恶的偶像，无论是雕刻的，是铸造的，就是工匠用手造的，或暗中设置的，这人必受诅咒！’众百姓要回应说：‘阿们！’

至于你的神明，你若在谁那里搜出来，就不让谁活。当着我们弟兄面前，你认一认在我这里有什么东西是你的，你就拿去吧。”原来雅各并不知道拉结偷了神明。
