“ The former things I declared of old; they went out from my mouth, and I announced them; then suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.

主说：“早先的事，我从古时说明，已经出了我的口，也是我所指示的；我忽然行做，事便成就。

“先前的事，我自古已说明，已从我口而出，是我所指示的；我瞬间行事，事便成就。

“过去所发生的事，我很久以前就预言过、亲口宣告过，然后使它们瞬间发生。

耶和華曰、昔我預言諸事、出之於口、昭示於人、猝然行之、俾底於成、

主曰、昔我預言諸事、曾出我口、我已宣告、猝然行之、事悉成、

I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.

“ Long ago I told you ahead of time what would happen. I announced it and made it known. Then all of a sudden I acted. And those things took place.

Long ago I told you what was going to happen. Then suddenly I took action, and all my predictions came true.

I declared the past events long ago; they came out of my mouth; I proclaimed them. Suddenly I acted, and they occurred.

I declared the former things long ago, And they went out of My mouth, and I proclaimed them. Suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.

“ I have declared the former things from the beginning; They went forth from My mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.

I have declared the former things from of old; yea, they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them: suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.

I declared the past events long ago; they came out of My mouth; I proclaimed them. Suddenly I acted, and they occurred.

I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did[ them] suddenly, and they came to pass.

“ I announced events beforehand, I issued the decrees and made the predictions; suddenly I acted and they came to pass.

I have declared the former things from of old. Yes, they went out of my mouth, and I revealed them. I did them suddenly, and they happened.

Let them bring them, and tell us what is to happen. Tell us the former things, what they are, that we may consider them, that we may know their outcome; or declare to us the things to come.

Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.”

Declare and present your case; let them take counsel together! Who told this long ago? Who declared it of old? Was it not I, the Lord? And there is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides me.

All the nations gather together, and the peoples assemble. Who among them can declare this, and show us the former things? Let them bring their witnesses to prove them right, and let them hear and say, It is true.

Who is like me? Let him proclaim it. Let him declare and set it before me, since I appointed an ancient people. Let them declare what is to come, and what will happen.Fear not, nor be afraid; have I not told you from of old and declared it? And you are my witnesses! Is there a God besides me? There is no Rock; I know not any.”

Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.

Behold, the Lord God of hosts will lop the boughs with terrifying power; the great in height will be hewn down, and the lofty will be brought low.He will cut down the thickets of the forest with an axe, and Lebanon will fall by the Majestic One.

“ And now I am about to go the way of all the earth, and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one word has failed of all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one of them has failed.But just as all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you have been fulfilled for you, so the Lord will bring upon you all the evil things, until he has destroyed you from off this good land that the Lord your God has given you,

Behold, I will put a spirit in him, so that he shall hear a rumor and return to his own land, and I will make him fall by the sword in his own land.’”

And the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. And when people arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.Then Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and returned home and lived at Nineveh.And as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer, his sons, struck him down with the sword. And after they escaped into the land of Ararat, Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.

remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me,declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying,‘ My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’

When the Lord has finished all his work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, he will punish the speech of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the boastful look in his eyes.For he says:“ By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom, for I have understanding; I remove the boundaries of peoples, and plunder their treasures; like a bull I bring down those who sit on thrones.My hand has found like a nest the wealth of the peoples; and as one gathers eggs that have been forsaken, so I have gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved a wing or opened the mouth or chirped.”Shall the axe boast over him who hews with it, or the saw magnify itself against him who wields it? As if a rod should wield him who lifts it, or as if a staff should lift him who is not wood!Therefore the Lord God of hosts will send wasting sickness among his stout warriors, and under his glory a burning will be kindled, like the burning of fire.The light of Israel will become a fire, and his Holy One a flame, and it will burn and devour his thorns and briers in one day.The glory of his forest and of his fruitful land the Lord will destroy, both soul and body, and it will be as when a sick man wastes away.The remnant of the trees of his forest will be so few that a child can write them down.

Because you have raged against me and your complacency has come to my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in your mouth, and I will turn you back on the way by which you came.’
