so he will sprinkle many nations, and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.

But many nations will be surprised when they see what he has done. Kings will be so amazed that they will not be able to say anything. They will understand things they were never told. They will know the meaning of things they never heard.”

主救贖以色列者、以色列之聖主如是云、我乃主、即以色列之聖主、誠實無妄、我已選爾、今爾雖為人所藐、國民所棄、秉權者所制、將來列王見爾必興起、侯伯亦必下拜、

且我務傳福音、不在基督已被稱之處、免建於他人基上、如經載云、未蒙示者將見、未得聞者將悟、

爾往招萬民為我門徒、因父與子與聖神之名、施之洗禮、或作施之洗禮以歸父與子與聖神之名

侯伯不敢言、以手掩口、有爵位者緘默、彷彿舌貼於腭、

若牛羊之血、與焚化牝犢之灰、灑於不潔者、能潔其身、何況基督感於永在之神、以己無瑕之身、獻於天主、其血豈更不淨爾心去妄行、使爾奉事永生之天主乎、

即按父天主之預知蒙選、感於聖神而成聖、以致能順服耶穌基督、且得灑以其血者、願恩寵平安、多加於爾、○

耶穌既高舉在天主右、受父所許之聖神、即以此降賦、是爾所見所聞者、

我之仁義將顯、我之拯救已施、施原文作出我必以大能審鞫列民、洲島洲島或作沿海之民、將仰望我、賴我大能、

此奧妙乃前古之世未示於人、今則以聖神顯示其聖使徒及先知、即異邦人、同為嗣子、同為一體、賴福音共享天主因耶穌所許之福、天主賜我恩寵、循其大力而感我、使我得為此福音之役、我在眾聖徒中、雖為至微者、猶蒙天主賜恩、使我於異邦人中、傳基督不可測之富有、且光照眾人、皆知此奧妙何如、即歷世以來、藏於藉耶穌基督有原文抄本無藉耶穌基督句創造萬物之天主心內之奧妙、

主勃然而興、將出其聖居、凡有血氣者、當於其前、肅然靜默、

則當誠意篤信、心被灑以去惡念、身被洗以清水、而至天主前、

先知曰、異邦之民、素逞勢力、見此必羞愧、掩口不言、塞耳不聽、必餂塵若蛇、若腹行之蟲、自其鞏固之城、戰慄出降、悚然歸主我之天主、無不敬畏主、

使之成潔、當如是以行、以贖罪之水、灑於其身、使以刀薙全體毫髮、洗滌其衣、如是成潔、

惟天主能堅爾曹、循我所宣之福音、所傳耶穌基督之道、即按所顯示亙古以來隱秘之奧、此奧今已昭著、且遵永生天主命、以先知書示諸異邦人知之、使其信服、

我甚輕賤、何以答主、惟以手掩口、

拯救我、非由我行義之功、乃由其矜恤、使我受洗重生、賜我聖神以復新、原文作拯救我非由我行義之功乃由重生之洗與聖神之復新而救我儕聖神乃天主因我救主耶穌基督、厚賜我儕、

居於曠野者必跪於其前、其仇敵必伏於塵埃、他施與諸海島之列王、必來朝貢、示巴與西巴之君王、必進獻禮物、列王皆叩拜之、列國均服事之、
