因為耶和華召喚你，像召喚被離棄、靈裡憂傷的妻子，就是年輕時所娶又被棄絕的妻子。」這是你的神說的。

耶和華召爾、如召被棄之婦、少時見出而心憂者、爾上帝言之矣、

爾可擬女子、幼時適人、後為夫所棄、愀然以憂、今我耶和華、爾之上帝、召爾旋歸。

主召爾歸、如人召見棄憂心之婦、亦如召幼年娶後被棄之婦、此乃爾天主所言、

The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit— a wife who married young, only to be rejected,” says your God.

You were like a wife who was deserted. And her heart was broken. You were like a wife who married young. And her husband sent her away. But now I am calling you to come back,” says your God.

For the Lord has called you back from your grief— as though you were a young wife abandoned by her husband,” says your God.

For the LORD has called you, like a wife deserted and wounded in spirit, a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,” says your God.

For Jehovah hath called thee as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of youth, when she is cast off, saith thy God.

You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; For the Lord delights in you, And your land shall be married.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

“ Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Will bring her into the wilderness, And speak comfort to her.I will give her her vineyards from there, And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; She shall sing there, As in the days of her youth, As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.

Live joyfully with the wife whom you love all the days of your vain life which He has given you under the sun, all your days of vanity; for that is your portion in life, and in the labor which you perform under the sun.

Yet you say,“ For what reason?” Because the Lord has been witness Between you and the wife of your youth, With whom you have dealt treacherously; Yet she is your companion And your wife by covenant.

Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth.

Thus says the Lord:“ Where is the certificate of your mother’s divorce, Whom I have put away? Or which of My creditors is it to whom I have sold you? For your iniquities you have sold yourselves, And for your transgressions your mother has been put away.Why, when I came, was there no man? Why, when I called, was there none to answer? Is My hand shortened at all that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Indeed with My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness; Their fish stink because there is no water, And die of thirst.

But Zion said,“ The Lord has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me.”“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.Your sons shall make haste; Your destroyers and those who laid you waste Shall go away from you.Lift up your eyes, look around and see; All these gather together and come to you. As I live,” says the Lord,“ You shall surely clothe yourselves with them all as an ornament, And bind them on you as a bride does.“ For your waste and desolate places, And the land of your destruction, Will even now be too small for the inhabitants; And those who swallowed you up will be far away.The children you will have, After you have lost the others, Will say again in your ears,‘ The place is too small for me; Give me a place where I may dwell.’Then you will say in your heart,‘ Who has begotten these for me, Since I have lost my children and am desolate, A captive, and wandering to and fro? And who has brought these up? There I was, left alone; But these, where were they?’”

Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

Say to your brethren,‘ My people,’ And to your sisters,‘ Mercy is shown.’“ Bring charges against your mother, bring charges; For she is not My wife, nor am I her Husband! Let her put away her harlotries from her sight, And her adulteries from between her breasts;
