Yet, LORD, you are our father. We are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the product of your labor.

耶和华啊，现在你仍是我们的父！我们是泥，你是窑匠；我们都是你手的工作。

耶和華歟、爾乃我父、我乃泥塗、爾為陶人、我皆爾手所造、

耶和華與、爾乃我父、我若泥塗、爾若陶人、為爾甄造。

主歟、主仍為我父、我儕為泥、主為陶人、皆為主手所造、

Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

But now, O Jehovah, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

But now, Yahweh, you are our Father. We are the clay and you our potter. We all are the work of your hand.

Your thinking is perverse! Should the potter be regarded as clay? Should the thing made say about its maker,“ He didn’t make me”? Or should the pottery say about the potter,“ He doesn’t understand”?

“ Go down at once to the potter’s house. I will speak to you further there.”So I went down to the potter’s house and found him working at his wheel.Now and then there would be something wrong with the pot he was molding from the clay with his hands. So he would rework the clay into another kind of pot as he saw fit.Then the LORD said to me,“ I, the LORD, say:‘ O nation of Israel, can I not deal with you as this potter deals with the clay? In my hands, you, O nation of Israel, are just like the clay in this potter’s hand.’

For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them.

One who argues with his creator is in grave danger, one who is like a mere shard among the other shards on the ground! The clay should not say to the potter,“ What in the world are you doing? Your work lacks skill!”

Acknowledge that the LORD is God! He made us and we belong to him; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

For you are our father, though Abraham does not know us and Israel does not recognize us. You, LORD, are our father; you have been called our protector from ancient times.

everyone who belongs to me, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed– yes, whom I made!

The LORD avenges me. O LORD, your loyal love endures. Do not abandon those whom you have made!

Your hands made me and formed me. Give me understanding so that I might learn your commands.

Remember these things, O Jacob, O Israel, for you are my servant. I formed you to be my servant; O Israel, I will not forget you!

This is what the LORD, your protector, says, the one who formed you in the womb:“ I am the LORD, who made everything, who alone stretched out the sky, who fashioned the earth all by myself,

But who indeed are you– a mere human being– to talk back to God? Does what is molded say to the molder,“ Why have you made me like this?”Has the potter no right to make from the same lump of clay one vessel for special use and another for ordinary use?But what if God, willing to demonstrate his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects of wrath prepared for destruction?And what if he is willing to make known the wealth of his glory on the objects of mercy that he has prepared beforehand for glory–even us, whom he has called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith.

“ Your hands have shaped me and made me, but now you destroy me completely.Remember that you have made me as with the clay; will you return me to dust?

Is this how you repay the LORD, you foolish, unwise people? Is he not your father, your creator? He has made you and established you.

And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to the promise.

You must say to Pharaoh,‘ Thus says the LORD,“ Israel is my son, my firstborn,
