Surely wickedness burns like a fire; it consumes briers and thorns, it sets the forest thickets ablaze, so that it rolls upward in a column of smoke.

What is evil burns like a fire. It burns up bushes and thorns. It sets the forest on fire. It sends up a huge column of smoke.

万军之耶和华说：“看哪！那日子将要来到，燃烧如火炉；所有傲慢的和作恶的都必成为麦秸，那要来的日子必把他们烧尽，不留下一根一枝。

火怎样焚烧森林，火焰怎样烧尽群山，

因此，火舌怎样吞噬麦秸，干草怎样倒在火焰中，照样，他们的根也必像腐朽之物，他们的花必像尘土飞散；因为他们厌弃万军之耶和华的训诲，藐视以色列圣者的言语。

在这世代的终结也将是这样。天使们要出去，把恶人从义人中分别出来，丢进火炉里。在那里将有哀哭和切齿。”

这就是耶和华报复之日，是为锡安的争讼施行报应的年日。以东的溪流将变成柏油，它的尘土将变成硫磺，它的土地将成为燃烧着的柏油——昼夜总不熄灭，烟气永远上腾；那地世世代代荒凉，永永远远无人经过。

耶和华必使人听见他威严的声音，又以猛烈的怒气、吞噬的火焰、暴雨、狂风和石头般的冰雹，使人看见他抡下来的膀臂。

众民必被烧成灰烬，好像砍下的荆棘在火中烧掉。

原来，那焚烧场早已安排好了，是为君王所预备的；它又深又宽，其中充满了火和许多木柴；耶和华的气息如同一股硫磺火使它燃烧起来。

然而恶人必将灭亡，耶和华的仇敌如同草场的华美必将消逝——如烟消逝。

因为耶和华必以烈火和他的刀剑审判一切有血肉的；那时被耶和华所杀的人会很多。耶和华宣告：“那些自我分别为圣、自我洁净去园林追随他们中的一个，去吃猪肉、可憎之物和老鼠的，都必一同被扫除。”

有权势的必成为麻絮，他的作为必成为火花；二者共燃，无人扑灭。

如果你的一只手使你绊倒，就把它砍掉！对你来说，缺一只手进入永生，要比双手齐全下地狱，到那永不熄灭的火里好多了。

我里面没有怒火，但谁要是给我荆棘蒺藜，我就大步前去与他们交战，把他们彻底烧掉；

但如果它长出荆棘和蒺藜，就没有用处了，很快就要被诅咒，它的结局就是被焚烧。

那时王要对在左边的人说：‘你们这些被诅咒的人！离开我！进到那已经为魔鬼和他的使者们所预备好的永远的火里去！

因此，主万军之耶和华必使衰败临到亚述王肥壮的勇士；在亚述王的荣耀之下，必有火燃起，如同烈火燃烧。以色列的光必成为火，他的圣者必成为烈焰，一日之内就把亚述王的荆棘和蒺藜焚烧吞没；亚述王树林和果园的荣美必全然灭绝，好像病重的人消逝那样。

折磨他们时的烟往上冒，直到永永远远。那些膜拜兽和兽像的，以及任何接受它名字印记的，都将日夜得不到安息。
