Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials,

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations,

You rejoice in this, though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trialsso that the genuineness of your faith— more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire— may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.You love Him, though you have not seen Him. And though not seeing Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy,

A man who endures trials is blessed, because when he passes the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

Those who are persecuted for righteousness are blessed, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.“ You are blessed when they insult and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of Me.Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

But He said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, catastrophes, persecutions, and in pressures, because of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

You are blessed when people hate you, when they exclude you, insult you, and slander your name as evil because of the Son of Man.“ Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! Take note— your reward is great in heaven, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the prophets.

For it has been given to you on Christ’s behalf not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for Him,

and if children, also heirs— heirs of God and coheirs with Christ— seeing that we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.

then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment,

Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look, the Devil is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will have affliction for 10 days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Then they went out from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the Name.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I am completing in my flesh what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for His body, that is, the church.

Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or anguish or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?As it is written: Because of You we are being put to death all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered.No, in all these things we are more than victorious through Him who loved us.

For you sympathized with the prisoners and accepted with joy the confiscation of your possessions, knowing that you yourselves have a better and enduring possession.

and others experienced mockings and scourgings, as well as bonds and imprisonment.They were stoned, they were sawed in two, they died by the sword, they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins, destitute, afflicted, and mistreated.The world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and on mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground.

But even if I am poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.
