爾中若有缺於智者、當求上帝、彼博施於眾、不責乎人、必賜之焉、

有人智不足、當求上帝、上帝博施、不汝瑕疵、必賜所求、

若爾中有人智慧不足、當求天主、天主乃厚賜人而不責人者、必賜所求、

若爾中有人智慧不足、則當求之天主、終必如願以償；蓋天主賜人至厚、博愛慈祥、而不事呵叱也。

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

If any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He will give it to you. God gives freely to everyone and doesn’t find fault.

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God— who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly— and it will be given to him.

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you.

“ Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Give me now wisdom and knowledge to go out and come in before this people, for who can govern this people of yours, which is so great?”

In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

“ Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Only, may the Lord grant you discretion and understanding, that when he gives you charge over Israel you may keep the law of the Lord your God.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship,

And behold, I have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. And I have given to all able men ability, that they may make all that I have commanded you:

and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.

Jesus answered her,“ If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you,‘ Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”

And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent;or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.

and told them to seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.Daniel answered and said:“ Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might.He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.

Then he began to denounce the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent.

Then I said,“ Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.”But the Lord said to me,“ Do not say,‘ I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.

“ Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” To him who lacks sense she says,“ Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed.Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.”

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

“ But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?Man does not know its worth, and it is not found in the land of the living.The deep says,‘ It is not in me,’ and the sea says,‘ It is not with me.’It cannot be bought for gold, and silver cannot be weighed as its price.It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, in precious onyx or sapphire.Gold and glass cannot equal it, nor can it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal; the price of wisdom is above pearls.The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it, nor can it be valued in pure gold.“ From where, then, does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding?It is hidden from the eyes of all living and concealed from the birds of the air.Abaddon and Death say,‘ We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’“ God understands the way to it, and he knows its place.For he looks to the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.When he gave to the wind its weight and apportioned the waters by measure,when he made a decree for the rain and a way for the lightning of the thunder,then he saw it and declared it; he established it, and searched it out.And he said to man,‘ Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”

“ Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whom the Lord has put skill and intelligence to know how to do any work in the construction of the sanctuary shall work in accordance with all that the Lord has commanded.”And Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whose mind the Lord had put skill, everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to do the work.And they received from Moses all the contribution that the people of Israel had brought for doing the work on the sanctuary. They still kept bringing him freewill offerings every morning,so that all the craftsmen who were doing every sort of task on the sanctuary came, each from the task that he was doing,

to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.And the son said to him,‘ Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’But the father said to his servants,‘ Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet.

Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen.
