參孫覺得非常口渴，便向耶和華呼求說：「你既然藉著僕人的手大敗敵人，難道你會讓我渴死、落在這些未受割禮的人手中嗎？」

参孙甚觉口渴，就求告耶和华说：“你既藉仆人的手施行这么大的拯救，岂可任我渴死、落在未受割礼的人手中呢？”

参孙非常口渴，就求告耶和华说：“你既藉仆人的手施行这么大的拯救，现在我要渴死，落在未受割礼的人手中吗？”

Because he was very thirsty, he cried out to the Lord,“ You have given your servant this great victory. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

Samson was very thirsty. So he cried out to the Lord. He said,“ You have helped me win this great battle. Do I have to die of thirst now? Must I fall into the power of people who haven’t even been circumcised? They aren’t your people.”

And he was very thirsty, and he called upon the Lord and said,“ You have granted this great salvation by the hand of your servant, and shall I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

Samson was now very thirsty, and he cried out to the Lord,“ You have accomplished this great victory by the strength of your servant. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of these pagans?”

He became very thirsty and called out to the LORD,“ You have accomplished this great victory through your servant. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

Then he became very thirsty, and he called to the Lord and said,“ You have handed this great victory over to Your servant, and now am I to die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

And he was sore athirst, and called on Jehovah, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance by the hand of thy servant; and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised.

我曾打死過獅子和熊。這未受割禮的非利士人竟敢向永活上帝的軍隊罵陣，他的下場也必像獅子和熊一樣。

大衛心裡想：「終有一天，我會死在掃羅手裡，我最好逃到非利士人那裡。這樣，掃羅就不會在以色列到處追捕我了，我便可以逃離他的手。」

我們壓力重重，卻沒有崩潰；心裡困惑，卻不絕望；遭受迫害，卻沒有被遺棄；被打倒了，卻沒有死亡。

弟兄姊妹，希望你們知道我們在亞細亞所遭遇的苦難。那時我們承受極大的壓力，超過了我們的極限，甚至連活命的指望都沒了。我們心裡覺得必死無疑，這使我們不倚靠自己，只倚靠使死人復活的上帝。

耶和華啊，求你起來！我的上帝啊，求你救我！求你摑我一切仇敵的臉，打碎惡人的牙齒。耶和華啊，你是拯救者，願你賜福你的子民！（細拉）

為了使我不至於因所受的啟示太大而自高，有一根「刺」在我身上，就是有撒旦的爪牙攻擊我，免得我驕傲自大。我曾三次祈求主叫這根刺離開我，

除了耶和華以外，誰是上帝呢？除了我們的上帝，誰是磐石呢？是上帝賜我力量，使我行為純全。祂使我的腳如母鹿的蹄，穩踏在高處。祂訓練我，使我的手能爭戰、我的臂膀能拉開銅弓。耶和華啊，你是拯救我的盾牌，你的右手扶持我，你的垂顧使我強大。你使我腳下的道路寬闊，不致滑倒。我追趕仇敵直到追上，不消滅他們決不回頭。我打垮他們，使他們倒在我的腳下，再也站不起來。你賜我征戰的能力，使我的仇敵降服在我腳下。你使我的仇敵狼狽而逃，我殲滅了恨我的人。

後來，耶穌知道一切的事已經完成，就說：「我渴了。」這是要應驗聖經上的話。

亞伯拉罕回答說：「因為我想這裡的人不敬畏上帝，他們必為了奪我妻子而殺我。

基甸率領他的三百人渡過約旦河，雖然疲憊不堪，仍緊追敵人。

不要在迦特宣告，不要在亞實基倫的街上傳揚，免得非利士的婦女幸災樂禍，免得未受割禮之人的女子歡喜雀躍。

參孫向耶和華禱告說：「主耶和華啊，求你眷顧我！上帝啊，求你再次賜給我力量，使我向非利士人報剜眼之仇。」

埃及人看見你，一定會因為你是我的妻子而殺了我，讓你活著。所以，請你說你是我的妹妹，這樣他們會因為你而善待我，留我一命。」

我的力量如水消逝，我的骨頭都脫了節，我的心如蠟熔化。我的力量枯竭如焦土，我的舌頭髮乾緊貼上顎。你把我放在死亡的塵土中。

我還要再說下去嗎？我沒有時間一一細說基甸、巴拉、參孫、耶弗特、大衛、撒母耳和眾先知的事了。

大衛問站在旁邊的人：「如果有人殺了這非利士人，洗掉以色列人的羞辱，他會得到什麼呢？這個未受割禮的非利士人是誰？竟敢向永活上帝的軍隊罵陣！」

雅各經過毗努伊勒的時候，太陽出來了，那時他的大腿瘸了。
