以必朽的人、飛禽、走獸和爬蟲的形像來取代永恆上帝的榮耀。因此，上帝任憑他們隨從內心的情慾行污穢的事，玷污彼此的身體。他們把上帝的真理當作謊言，祭拜、供奉受造之物，卻不敬拜、事奉造物主。主是永遠值得稱頌的。阿們！

「如今，他們竟唱歌諷刺我，我成了他們的笑柄。他們厭惡我，不願靠近我，任意朝我臉上吐唾沫。

他們將掃羅的盔甲放在他們的神廟裡，把他的頭顱掛在大袞神廟中。

仇敵跌倒，不要幸災樂禍；仇敵敗落，不要心裡歡喜。

我遭遇患難時，他們卻聚在一起幸災樂禍，合夥誹謗我。素不相識的人也群起攻擊我，不住地譭謗我。他們肆無忌憚地嘲弄我，咬牙切齒地憎惡我。

當然不是，我的意思是那些異教徒所獻的祭是祭鬼魔的，而不是獻給上帝的。我不願意你們與鬼魔有任何關係。

萬民都遵從自己的神明，但我們要永遠遵從我們的上帝耶和華。

論到吃獻給偶像的祭物，我們知道世上的偶像算不得什麼，只有一位上帝，此外別無他神。雖然天上地上有許多被稱為神的，好像有許多神、許多主，

雖然列國的神明根本不是真神，卻沒有一國更換自己的神明。但我的子民卻把自己榮耀的上帝換作了無用的假神。
