The five men who had spied out the land went inside and took the idol, the ephod and the household gods while the priest and the six hundred armed men stood at the entrance of the gate.

The five men who had looked over the land went inside. They took the statue covered with silver. They also took the family gods and the linen apron. During that time, the priest stood at the entrance of the gate. The 600 men stood there with him. They were prepared for battle.

And the five men who had gone to scout out the land went up and entered and took the carved image, the ephod, the household gods, and the metal image, while the priest stood by the entrance of the gate with the 600 men armed with weapons of war.

侦察过拉亿的五个人对其余的人说：“你们知道吗？这家有以弗得、一些家庭神像、一个雕刻的偶像和一个金属铸像。想一想我们该怎么办。”

米迦把银子还给母亲后，他母亲拿出二百块银子交给银匠雕刻、铸造神像，放在米迦的房子里。米迦有一个神庙，他制造了一件以弗得和一些家庭神像，并指派他的一个儿子做祭司。

但支派的人从琐拉和以实陶派本族的五名勇士去打探、察看那个地方。他们吩咐说：“你们去察看那个地方。”他们到了以法莲山区，在米迦家里借宿。

那时拉班正在外面剪羊毛，拉结偷了父亲的家庭神像。

非利士人叫来他们的祭司和占卜者，问道：“我们该怎样处理耶和华的约柜呢？请告诉我们怎样把它送回原处？”他们答道：“你们若把以色列上帝的约柜送回去，不可空手送去，一定要向他献上赔罪的礼物，这样你们就可以得到医治，也可以知道他为什么惩罚你们。”非利士人问：“我们该送什么作赔罪的礼物呢？”他们答道：“你们要按非利士首领的数目，送五个金毒疮和五只金鼠，因为你们和你们的首领都遭受了同样的灾难。所以，你们要制作金毒疮和毁坏田地的老鼠的像，尊崇以色列的上帝，也许祂会放过你们、你们的神明及田地。你们为什么像法老和埃及人那样心里顽固呢？当上帝严厉地对待他们时，他们岂没有让以色列人离开埃及吗？现在，你们快去准备一辆新车，把两头还在哺养小牛、从未负过轭的母牛套在车上，然后把小牛带回牛圈里。你们要把耶和华的约柜放在车上，旁边放箱子，里面装赔罪的金物，然后送这辆车上路。你们要留意观察，如果车朝以色列边境的伯·示麦去，这大灾难就是耶和华降给我们的。如果不朝那方向走，我们就知道不是祂惩罚我们，是偶然发生的。”

又把他们铸造的牛犊熔化掉，磨成粉末撒在水面上，叫以色列百姓喝。

我要从你们中间除去雕刻的神像和神柱，使你们不再跪拜自己所造的。

上帝的约柜被掳走了，以利的两个儿子何弗尼和非尼哈被杀身亡。

他们把神像抬起来扛在肩上，找个地方把它安置好，它就在那里呆立不动。人向它呼求，它不能回应，也不能救人脱离困境。

彼勒屈膝跪下，尼波弯腰降服。这些巴比伦的偶像成为野兽和牲畜背上的重负，使其疲惫不堪。它们一同屈膝降服，不但救不了被掳的巴比伦人，自己也被掳去。

约阿施对气势汹汹的人群说：“你们这样做是要为巴力辩护吗？是要救它吗？谁为巴力辩护，今天早晨就处死谁。有人拆毁巴力的祭坛，如果它是神明，就让它为自己辩护吧！”

把列国的神像丢在火中。因为那些神像只是人用木头石头制造的，根本不是神。我们的上帝耶和华啊，现在求你从亚述王手中拯救我们，让天下万国都知道唯有你是耶和华。”
