Then all Israel from Dan to Beersheba and from the land of Gilead came together as one and assembled before the Lord in Mizpah.

Then all the Israelites came out. They came from the whole land between Dan and Beersheba. They also came from the land of Gilead. All of them gathered together in front of the Lord at Mizpah.

Then all the people of Israel came out, from Dan to Beersheba, including the land of Gilead, and the congregation assembled as one man to the Lord at Mizpah.

Then all the Israelites were united as one man, from Dan in the north to Beersheba in the south, including those from across the Jordan in the land of Gilead. The entire community assembled in the presence of the Lord at Mizpah.

所有的軍官和屬他們的人聽見巴比倫王立了基大利作省長，尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利、加利亞的兒子約哈難、尼陀法人單戶蔑的兒子西萊雅、瑪迦人的兒子雅撒尼亞，和屬他們的人，都來到米斯巴的基大利那裏。

以色列各支派中眾百姓的領袖，都站在上帝百姓的會中。拿刀的步兵共有四十萬。

呂便子孫和迦得子孫的牲畜極其眾多。他們看到雅謝地和基列地；看哪，這是可牧放牲畜的地方。

他把一對牛切成小塊，吩咐使者傳送到以色列全境，說：「凡不出來跟隨掃羅和撒母耳的，就必這樣待他的牛。」耶和華使百姓懼怕，他們就都出來如同一人。掃羅在比色數點他們：以色列人有三十萬，猶大人有三萬。

「若你聽見人說，在耶和華－你上帝所賜給你居住的城鎮中的一座，有些無賴之徒從你中間出來，引誘本城的居民，說：『我們去事奉別神吧。』那是你們不認識的，你就要調查，探聽，細心詢問。看哪，是真的，確實有這可憎的事在你中間發生，你務必用刀殺那城裏的居民，把城裏所有的，連牲畜都用刀滅盡。你要把從城裏所奪取的一切財物堆在廣場中，用火將那城和其中奪取的一切財物全燒給耶和華－你的上帝。那城要永遠成為廢墟，不得重建。那當毀滅的物一點都不可黏你的手，好讓耶和華轉回，不向你發烈怒，卻恩待你，憐憫你，照他向你列祖所起的誓使你人數增多；因為你聽從耶和華－你上帝的話，遵守我今日所吩咐你的一切誡命，行耶和華－你上帝眼中看為正的事。」
