Now the sons of Israel set out, went up to Bethel, and inquired of God and said,“ Who shall go up first for us to battle against the sons of Benjamin?” Then the Lord said,“ Judah shall go up first.”

俱至伯特利、問於上帝、曰、我中誰可先攻便雅憫族。耶和華曰、猶大可先往。

以色列人遂起上伯特利、問於天主曰、我儕中誰當先往攻便雅憫人、主曰、猶大人當先往、

The Israelites went up to Bethel and inquired of God. They said,“ Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Benjamites?” The Lord replied,“ Judah shall go first.”

The Israelites went up to Bethel. There they asked God,“ Who should go up first and fight against the people of Benjamin?” The Lord answered,“ The tribe of Judah will go first.”

The people of Israel arose and went up to Bethel and inquired of God,“ Who shall go up first for us to fight against the people of Benjamin?” And the Lord said,“ Judah shall go up first.”

Before the battle the Israelites went to Bethel and asked God,“ Which tribe should go first to attack the people of Benjamin?” The Lord answered,“ Judah is to go first.”

They set out, went to Bethel, and inquired of God. The Israelites asked,“ Who is to go first to fight for us against the Benjaminites?” And the LORD answered,“ Judah will be first.”

Then the children of Israel arose and went up to the house of God to inquire of God. They said,“ Which of us shall go up first to battle against the children of Benjamin?” The Lord said,“ Judah first!”

And the children of Israel arose, and went up to Beth- el, and asked counsel of God; and they said, Who shall go up for us first to battle against the children of Benjamin? And Jehovah said, Judah shall go up first.

They set out, went to Bethel, and inquired of God. The Israelites asked,“ Who is to go first to fight for us against the Benjaminites?” And the Lord answered,“ Judah will be first.”

And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah[ shall go up] first.

The Israelites went up to Bethel and asked God,“ Who should lead the charge against the Benjaminites?” The LORD said,“ Judah should lead.”

The children of Israel arose, went up to Bethel, and asked counsel of God. They asked,“ Who shall go up for us first to battle against the children of Benjamin?” Yahweh said,“ Judah first.”

Moreover, he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before the Lord. At his command they shall go out, and at his command they shall come in, both he and all the sons of Israel with him, all the congregation.”

And the sons of Israel went up and wept before the Lord until evening, and inquired of the Lord, saying,“ Shall we again advance for battle against the sons of my brother Benjamin?” And the Lord said,“ Go up against him.”

Then all the sons of Israel and all the people went up and came to Bethel, and they wept and remained there before the Lord, and fasted that day until evening. And they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.And the sons of Israel inquired of the Lord( for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,

“ As for you, Judah, your brothers shall praise you; Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; Your father’s sons shall bow down to you.Judah is a lion’s cub; From the prey, my son, you have gone up. He crouches, he lies down as a lion, And as a lion, who dares to stir him up?The scepter will not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes, And to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.

Then the whole congregation of the sons of Israel assembled at Shiloh, and set up the tent of meeting there; and the land was subdued before them.

So Moses brought their case before the Lord.

Behold, all you sons of Israel, give your response and advice here.”

So the men of Israel took some of their provisions, and did not ask for the counsel of the Lord.

So they set up for themselves Micah’s carved image which he had made, all the time that the house of God was in Shiloh.

Now it came about after the death of Joshua that the sons of Israel inquired of the Lord, saying,“ Who shall go up first for us against the Canaanites, to fight against them?”The Lord said,“ Judah shall go up; behold, I have handed the land over to him.”

And he said to him,“ We are passing from Bethlehem in Judah to the remote part of the hill country of Ephraim, for I am from there, and I went to Bethlehem in Judah. But I am now going to my house, and no one will take me into his house.

Consecrate a fast, Proclaim a solemn assembly; Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land To the house of the Lord your God, And cry out to the Lord.
