在上帝面前不要冒失开口，不可急于发言，因为祂在天上，你在地上。所以，你要少言寡语。

王还对她起誓说：“无论你要什么，哪怕是我的半壁江山，我都会给你。”

他们彼此议论说：“我们到米斯巴聚集在耶和华面前的时候，各支派中谁没有来呢？”原来，他们曾经起誓说：凡不到米斯巴聚集在耶和华面前的人都要被处死。

有个士兵告诉约拿单，说：“你父亲曾叫众人郑重起誓，‘今天吃东西的人必受咒诅。’所以大家很疲惫。”约拿单说：“我父亲使大家受苦了。你看，我只吃了少许蜂蜜，就精神大振，

天亮后，犹太人设下阴谋，并起誓说：“不杀保罗，誓不吃喝！”

当你们的上帝耶和华把他们交在你们手里、使你们打败他们后，你们必须彻底毁灭他们。不可与他们立约，不可怜悯他们。不可与他们通婚，不可让你们的儿女与他们的儿女通婚，

我可以证明，他们对上帝有热心，但不是基于真知。

他向耶和华许愿说：“如果你把亚扪人交在我手中，让我凯旋而归，第一个从我家门出来迎接我的人必归给你，我必把他献给你作燔祭。”

如果你本着诚实、正直、公义，凭永活的耶和华起誓，你必成为万国的祝福，得到他们的尊敬。”

那一天，以色列人很困乏，因为扫罗叫他们起誓：“谁在黄昏前，就是在向敌人报完仇以前吃任何东西，谁就要受咒诅。”于是，以色列人整天都没有进食。

你要谨慎，到了目的地后，不可与当地的居民立约，免得因此而陷入网罗。相反，要拆掉他们的祭坛，打碎他们的神柱，砍掉他们的亚舍拉神像。不可拜别的神明，因为耶和华是痛恨不贞的上帝，祂名为‘痛恨不贞’。“不可与当地的居民立约，免得他们与自己的神明苟合时邀请你，你就吃他们的祭物，给儿子娶他们的女儿为妻，以致她们与自己的神明苟合时诱使你的儿子犯同样的罪。
