Then they said,“ Who among the tribes of Israel did not join us at Mizpah when we held our assembly in the presence of the Lord?” At that time they had taken a solemn oath in the Lord’s presence, vowing that anyone who refused to come would be put to death.

以色列人彼此问说：“以色列各支派中，谁没有同会众上到耶和华面前来呢？”先是以色列人起过大誓说，凡不上米斯巴到耶和华面前来的，必将他治死。

以色列人说：“以色列各支派中，谁没有同会众一起上到耶和华那里呢？”因为以色列人曾起重誓说：“凡不上米斯巴到耶和华那里的，必被处死。”

他们彼此议论说：“我们到米斯巴聚集在耶和华面前的时候，各支派中谁没有来呢？”原来，他们曾经起誓说：凡不到米斯巴聚集在耶和华面前的人都要被处死。

以色列人彼此说：“以色列各支派中，谁没有与会众上到耶和华面前来呢？”因为他们曾经起过很严厉的誓，说：“不上米斯巴到耶和华面前的，必把他处死。”

以色列人彼此對問說：『以色列眾族派中、誰沒有跟大眾上到永恆主面前呢？』因為以色列人曾經起過大誓說：『凡不上米斯巴到永恆主面前的、必須被處死。』

以色列人曾重誓曰、凡不上米斯巴、詣耶和華者、必致之死、故相問曰、以色列支派中、孰不與會、詣耶和華、

以色列族曾發誓言、凡不至米斯巴詣耶和華前者、必殺毋赦。故相問曰、以色列支派中、孰不至耶和華會。

以色列人曾大誓曰、凡不上米斯巴至主前者、必治之死、故相問曰、以色列諸支派中、誰不偕會眾上至主前、

Then the Israelites asked,“ Who from all the tribes of Israel has failed to assemble before the Lord?” For they had taken a solemn oath that anyone who failed to assemble before the Lord at Mizpah was to be put to death.

Then the Israelites asked,“ Has anyone failed to come here in front of the Lord? Is anyone missing from all the tribes of Israel?” The people had made a promise. They had said that anyone who failed to come to Mizpah in front of the Lord must be put to death.

And the people of Israel said,“ Which of all the tribes of Israel did not come up in the assembly to the Lord?” For they had taken a great oath concerning him who did not come up to the Lord to Mizpah, saying,“ He shall surely be put to death.”

The Israelites asked,“ Who of all the tribes of Israel didn’t come to the LORD with the assembly?” For a great oath had been taken that anyone who had not come to the LORD at Mizpah would certainly be put to death.

Then the sons of Israel said,“ Who is there among all the tribes of Israel who did not go up to the Lord in the assembly?” For they had taken a solemn oath concerning anyone who did not go up to the Lord at Mizpah, saying,“ He shall certainly be put to death.”

The children of Israel said,“ Who is there among all the tribes of Israel who did not come up with the assembly to the Lord?” For they had made a great oath concerning anyone who had not come up to the Lord at Mizpah, saying,“ He shall surely be put to death.”

And the children of Israel said, Who is there among all the tribes of Israel that came not up in the assembly unto Jehovah? For they had made a great oath concerning him that came not up unto Jehovah to Mizpah, saying, He shall surely be put to death.

The Israelites asked,“ Who of all the tribes of Israel didn’t come to the Lord with the assembly?” For a great oath had been taken that anyone who had not come to the Lord at Mizpah would certainly be put to death.

And the children of Israel said, Who[ is there] among all the tribes of Israel that came not up with the congregation unto the LORD? For they had made a great oath concerning him that came not up to the LORD to Mizpeh, saying, He shall surely be put to death.

The Israelites asked,“ Who from all the Israelite tribes has not assembled before the LORD?” They had made a solemn oath that whoever did not assemble before the LORD at Mizpah must certainly be executed.

The children of Israel said,“ Who is there among all the tribes of Israel who didn’t come up in the assembly to Yahweh?” For they had made a great oath concerning him who didn’t come up to Yahweh to Mizpah, saying,“ He shall surely be put to death.”

‘ Let the people of Meroz be cursed,’ said the angel of the Lord.‘ Let them be utterly cursed, because they did not come to help the Lord— to help the Lord against the mighty warriors.’

The Israelites had vowed at Mizpah,“ We will never give our daughters in marriage to a man from the tribe of Benjamin.”

“ However, anything specially set apart for the Lord— whether a person, an animal, or family property— must never be sold or bought back. Anything devoted in this way has been set apart as holy, and it belongs to the Lord.No person specially set apart for destruction may be bought back. Such a person must be put to death.

Cursed are those who refuse to do the Lord’s work, who hold back their swords from shedding blood!

But we cannot give them our own daughters in marriage because we have sworn with a solemn oath that anyone who does this will fall under God’s curse.”

He took two oxen and cut them into pieces and sent the messengers to carry them throughout Israel with this message:“ This is what will happen to the oxen of anyone who refuses to follow Saul and Samuel into battle!” And the Lord made the people afraid of Saul’s anger, and all of them came out together as one.
