他們卻忘了永恆主他們的上帝，上帝就把他們交付於夏瑣的軍長西西拉手裏，和非利士人跟摩押王手裏；於是這些人常來攻打他們。

但是那士師死了以後，他們就轉而變壞、比他們祖宗更壞，去隨從而事奉跪拜別的神、總不放下他們的壞行為和剛愎的行徑。

王啊，這直長起來，而長得很堅強的就是你。你的強大直增強着，強到頂天，你的權柄管到地極。

永恆主說：『你豈沒有聽見從遠古我就制定，在古日我就計畫，到現在我就作成，使有堡壘的城荒廢，變為倒壞的亂堆？

亞蘭王的軍長乃縵在他的主上面前是個大人物，受人景仰，很有體面，因為永恆主曾藉着他使亞蘭人得勝；這人呢、是個有力氣英勇的人，卻患了痲瘋屬之病。

永恆主向以色列人發怒，就把他們交在搶掠的人手中，這些人就搶擄他們；他又把他們交付於他們四圍的仇敵手中，以致他們在仇敵面前再也站不住。

鑿子哪能向用鑿子的人炫耀自己？鋸子哪能向拉動鋸子的自大？好似棍子掄起那舉起棍子的，好似手杖舉起那不是木頭的呢？

以法蓮哪，我可怎樣評斷你呢？猶大啊，我可怎樣評定你呢？你們的堅貞就如早晨的雲霧，又如早散的朝露。

以色列人行了永恆主所看為壞的事、去服事眾巴力；

你必上來攻擊我人民以色列，像密雲遮蓋那地。日後我必帶着你來攻擊我的地，歌革啊，到我在列國人眼前藉着你而彰顯為聖時，他們好認識我。

我永恆主所膏立的古列，我拉他的右手，使列國降服在他面前；列王的腰帶我必鬆開；我必使門戶在他面前敞開，使一切大門不得關閉：我永恆主對古列這麼說；『我必親自領導你，使道路平直；銅門我必打破，鐵閂我必砍斷；我必將暗中的財寶和隱密處的寶藏賜給你，使你知道是我永恆主、以色列之上帝、呼喚你的名召了你。為了我僕人雅各，我所揀選的以色列之緣故，我呼喚你的名召了你，將頭銜加給你，雖則你不認識我。

耶穌回答說：『若不是從上頭給了你，你就毫無權柄辦我；故此那把我送交給你的、犯了更大的罪。』

王啊，至高的上帝曾將國位、大權、尊榮、威嚴、賜給你父尼布甲尼撒；

然而我還讓你存立，正為的是要向你彰顯我的大能力，並傳揚我的名於全地。
