要起行，轉到亞摩利人的山區和附近的地區，就是亞拉巴、山區、謝非拉、尼革夫、沿海一帶，迦南人的地和黎巴嫩，直到大河，就是幼發拉底河。

非利士人集合，要與以色列人作戰。他們有戰車三萬輛，騎兵六千，士兵像海邊的沙那樣多。他們上來，在伯‧亞文東邊的密抹安營。

西布倫必住在海邊，必成為停船的港口；他的疆界必延到西頓。

耶和華將他們交在以色列人手裏，以色列人就擊殺他們，追趕他們到西頓大城，到米斯利弗‧瑪音，直到東邊米斯巴的山谷。以色列人擊殺他們，沒有留下一個倖存者。約書亞照耶和華所吩咐他的去做，砍斷他們馬的蹄筋，用火焚燒他們的戰車。那時，約書亞轉回，奪了夏瑣，用刀殺了夏瑣王。先前夏瑣在這些王國中是為首的。以色列人用刀擊殺城中所有的人，把他們完全滅盡；凡有氣息的，沒有留下一個。約書亞又用火焚燒夏瑣。約書亞奪了這些王的一切城鎮，擒獲了這些王，用刀殺了他們，把他們完全滅盡，正如耶和華的僕人摩西所吩咐的。至於造在山岡上的城鎮，除了夏瑣以外，以色列人都沒有焚燒。約書亞只焚燒了夏瑣。

從何珥山劃到哈馬口，直通到西達達，

撒母耳的話傳遍了全以色列。以色列人出去與非利士人打仗，安營在以便‧以謝，非利士人安營在亞弗。非利士人向以色列人擺陣。兩軍交戰的時候，以色列人敗在非利士人面前；非利士人在戰場上殺了他們約四千人。

耶和華把他們交給在夏瑣作王的迦南王耶賓手中；他的將軍是西西拉，住在夏羅設‧哈歌印。

亞瑪力人住在尼革夫；赫人、耶布斯人和亞摩利人住在山區；迦南人住在沿海一帶和約旦河旁。」

他的父母並不知道這事是出於耶和華，因為他在找機會攻擊非利士人。那時，非利士人轄制以色列人。

五人就走了，來到拉億，見那裏的人安居，像西頓人的生活一樣安寧無慮，那地無人羞辱他們，無人奪取侵略。他們離西頓人很遠，與世無爭。

金老鼠的數目是按照非利士五個領袖的城鎮，就是堅固的城鎮和鄉村，以及大磐石。這磐石是安放耶和華約櫃的，到今日還在伯‧示麥人約書亞的田間。

耶和華的怒氣向以色列發作，把他們交給非利士人和亞捫人的手中。

這黑門山，西頓人稱為西連，亞摩利人稱為示尼珥。
