所以我下来，要救他们脱离埃及人的手，领他们脱离那地，到美好宽阔之地，到流奶与蜜之地，就是到迦南人、赫人、亚摩利人、比利洗人、希未人和耶布斯人的地方。

他们没有照着耶和华吩咐他们的，灭绝外族的人民，反而和外族人混居杂处，学习他们的风俗习惯。他们又事奉外族人的偶像，这就成了他们的网罗。他们把自己的儿女祭祀鬼魔。他们流了无辜人的血，就是他们自己儿女的血，把他们祭祀迦南的偶像；那地就被血污秽了。

迦南生了长子西顿，又生赫，以及耶布斯人、亚摩利人、革迦撒人、希未人、亚基人、西尼人、亚瓦底人、洗玛利人、哈马人，后来迦南人的宗族分散了。

以法莲也没有把住在基色的迦南人赶走，于是迦南人还住在基色，在以法莲中间。西布伦没有把基伦的居民和拿哈拉的居民赶走；于是迦南人还住在西布伦中间，成了作苦工的人。亚设没有把亚柯的居民和西顿的居民赶走，也没有把亚黑拉、亚革悉、黑巴、亚弗革和利合的居民赶走。于是亚设人住在当地的居民迦南人中间，因为他们没有把他们赶走。

“耶和华你的神领你进入你要去得为业的地，从你面前赶走许多民族，就是赫人、革迦撒人、亚摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人，共七个比你又大又强的民族。

就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亚摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人之地。”

你见他在你面前心里诚实可靠，就与他立约，要把迦南人、赫人、亚摩利人、比利洗人、耶布斯人和革迦撒人之地，赐给他的后裔；你履行了你的诺言，因为你是公义的。
