以法蓮山地的拉瑪‧瑣非有一個以法蓮人，名叫以利加拿，是蘇弗的玄孫，託戶的曾孫，以利戶的孫子，耶羅罕的兒子。

他們有事的時候就到我這裏來，我便在兩造之間施行審判；我又叫他們知道神的律例和法度。」

第二天，摩西坐着審判百姓，百姓從早到晚都站在摩西的左右。

又從伯特利到路斯，接連到亞基人的境界，至亞他綠；

現在你要聽我的話。我為你出個主意，願神與你同在。你要替百姓到神面前，將案件奏告神；

次日清早，他們起來，在耶和華面前敬拜，就回拉瑪。到了家裏，以利加拿和妻哈拿同房，耶和華顧念哈拿，

又有基遍、拉瑪、比錄、

伯‧亞拉巴、洗瑪臉、伯特利、

撒母耳死了，以色列眾人聚集，為他哀哭，將他葬在拉瑪－他自己的墳墓裏。大衛起身，下到巴蘭的曠野。

押沙龍常常早晨起來，站在城門的道旁，凡有爭訟要去求王判斷的，押沙龍就叫他過來，問他說：「你是哪一城的人？」回答說：「僕人是以色列某支派的人。」押沙龍對他說：「你的事有情有理，無奈王沒有委人聽你伸訴。」押沙龍又說：「恨不得我作國中的士師！凡有爭訟求審判的到我這裏來，我必秉公判斷。」若有人近前來要拜押沙龍，押沙龍就伸手拉住他，與他親嘴。以色列人中，凡去見王求判斷的，押沙龍都是如此待他們。這樣，押沙龍暗中得了以色列人的心。

耶和華如此說：在拉瑪聽見號咷痛哭的聲音，是拉結哭她兒女，不肯受安慰，因為他們都不在了。
