Gideon said to him,“ But Lord, how can I deliver Israel? Just look! My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my family.”

基甸说：“主啊，我有何能拯救以色列人呢？我家在玛拿西支派中是至贫穷的。我在我父家是至微小的。”

基甸对他说：“主啊，请容许我说，我怎能拯救以色列呢？看哪，我这一支在玛拿西支派中是最贫寒的，我在我父家又是最微小的。”

基甸说：“主啊，我出身于玛拿西支派最贫穷的家族，在家里最微不足道，我怎能拯救以色列人呢？”

基甸对他说：“唉，我主啊，我凭着什么拯救以色列人呢？看哪，我的家族在玛拿西支派中是最卑微的，我在我的父家是最年轻的。”

基甸說：「主啊，我有何能拯救以色列人呢？我家在瑪拿西支派中是至貧窮的。我在我父家是至微小的。」

基甸對他說：「主啊，請容許我說，我怎能拯救以色列呢？看哪，我這一支在瑪拿西支派中是最貧寒的，我在我父家又是最微小的。」

基甸對他說：“唉，我主啊，我憑著甚麼拯救以色列人呢？看哪，我的家族在瑪拿西支派中是最卑微的，我在我的父家是最年輕的。”

基甸對他說：『唉，我主啊，我拿甚麼來拯救以色列呢？你看，我的族系在瑪拿西中是至卑微的，我、我在我父家又是至微小的。』

曰、主歟、瑪拿西中、我家至貧、在我父家、我又至微、何以拯以色列人乎、

曰、我主與、馬拿西族中我家貧乏、我父之家我又至微、焉能拯以色列族乎。

曰、我主歟、我家在瑪拿西支派中至貧、我在我父之家又至微、憑何者以救以色列人乎、

“ Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied,“ but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”

“ Pardon me, sir,” Gideon replied,“ but how can I possibly save Israel? My family group is the weakest in the tribe of Manasseh. And I’m the least important member of my family.”

And he said to him,“ Please, Lord, how can I save Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”

“ But Lord,” Gideon replied,“ how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!”

He said to him,“ Please, Lord, how can I deliver Israel? Look, my family is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s family.”

But he said to Him,“ O Lord, how am I to save Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.”

So he said to Him,“ O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”

And he said unto him, Oh, Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.

He said to Him,“ Please, Lord, how can I deliver Israel? Look, my family is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.”

And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family[ is] poor in Manasseh, and I[ am] the least in my father’s house.

He said to him,“ O Lord, how shall I save Israel? Behold, my family is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”

Moses said to God,“ Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, or that I should bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

Saul replied,“ Am I not a Benjaminite, from the smallest of Israel’s tribes, and is not my family clan the smallest of all the tribes of Benjamin? Why do you speak to me in this way?”

I am not worthy of all the faithful love you have shown your servant. With only my walking stick I crossed the Jordan, but now I have become two camps.

For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

I answered,“ Oh, Lord GOD, I really do not know how to speak well enough for that, for I am too young.”

Then Moses said to the LORD,“ O my Lord, I am not an eloquent man, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant, for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

So listen to what I, the LORD, have planned against Babylon, what I intend to do to the people who inhabit the land of Babylonia. Their little ones will be dragged off. I will completely destroy their land because of what they have done.

To me– less than the least of all the saints– this grace was given, to proclaim to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ

So Saul’s servants spoke these words privately to David. David replied,“ Is becoming the king’s son-in-law something insignificant to you? I’m just a poor and lightly-esteemed man!”

But you choose from the people capable men, God-fearing, men of truth, those who hate bribes, and put them over the people as rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.They will judge the people under normal circumstances, and every difficult case they will bring to you, but every small case they themselves will judge, so that you may make it easier for yourself, and they will bear the burden with you.If you do this thing, and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all these people will be able to go home satisfied.”Moses listened to his father-in-law and did everything he had said.Moses chose capable men from all Israel, and he made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

( 5: 1) As for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, seemingly insignificant among the clans of Judah– from you a king will emerge who will rule over Israel on my behalf, one whose origins are in the distant past.
