便对约阿施说：“把你儿子交出来！他拆毁了巴力的祭坛，砍倒了坛旁的亚舍拉神像，我们要处死他！”

城里的人对约阿施说：“把你的儿子领出来，把他处死，因为他拆毁了巴力的祭坛，砍下了坛旁的亚舍拉。”

城裏的人對約阿施說：「將你兒子交出來，好治死他；因為他拆毀了巴力的壇，砍下壇旁的木偶。」

城裏的人對約阿施說：『將你兒子交出來，好叫他死；因為他拆毁了巴力祭壇，因為他砍下了壇旁的亞舍拉神木。』

邑眾謂約阿施曰、爾子毀巴力壇、斫其旁之木偶、當攜之出、而致之死、

邑眾告約押曰、巴力之壇為爾子傾圯、在旁偶像亦被所斫、當攜出殺之。

邑人謂約阿施曰、攜爾子出、以致之死、以致之死或作蓋當死也緣毀巴力壇、斫壇旁亞舍拉、

The people of the town demanded of Joash,“ Bring out your son. He must die, because he has broken down Baal’s altar and cut down the Asherah pole beside it.”

The people in the town spoke to Joash. They ordered him,“ Bring your son out here. He must die. He has torn down Baal’s altar. He has cut down the Asherah pole beside it.”

Then the men of the town said to Joash,“ Bring out your son, that he may die, for he has broken down the altar of Baal and cut down the Asherah beside it.”

“ Bring out your son,” the men of the town demanded of Joash.“ He must die for destroying the altar of Baal and for cutting down the Asherah pole.”

Then the men of the city said to Joash,“ Bring out your son. He must die, because he tore down Baal’s altar and cut down the Asherah pole beside it.”

Then the men of the city said to Joash,“ Bring out your son, that he may die, for he has torn down the altar of Baal, and indeed, he has cut down the Asherah which was beside it.”

Then the men of the city said to Joash,“ Bring out your son, that he may die, because he has torn down the altar of Baal, and because he has cut down the wooden image that was beside it.”

Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die, because he hath broken down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the Asherah that was by it.

Then the men of the city said to Joash,“ Bring out your son. He must die, because he tore down Baal’s altar and cut down the Asherah pole beside it.”

Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that[ was] by it.

The men of the city said to Joash,“ Bring out your son, so we can execute him! He pulled down the Baal altar and cut down the nearby Asherah pole.”

Then the men of the city said to Joash,“ Bring out your son, that he may die, because he has broken down the altar of Baal, and because he has cut down the Asherah that was by it.”

Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and all the people,“ This man should be sentenced to death because he has prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own ears!” (niv)

as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless. (niv)

“ I too was convinced that I ought to do all that was possible to oppose the name of Jesus of Nazareth. (niv)

They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God. (niv)

A drought on her waters! They will dry up. For it is a land of idols, idols that will go mad with terror. (niv)
