God gave Oreb and Zeeb, the Midianite leaders, into your hands. What was I able to do compared to you?” At this, their resentment against him subsided.

温和的回答平息怒气，粗暴的言词激起愤怒。

又派人到整个以法莲山区，吩咐当地人攻打米甸人，占据远至伯·巴拉一带的约旦河渡口。以法莲人都依言而行，还生擒了米甸人的两名首领俄立和西伊伯。他们在俄立磐石上杀死了俄立，在西伊伯榨酒池杀了西伊伯。他们继续追杀米甸人，并带着俄立和西伊伯的人头穿过约旦河，交给基甸。

我凭上帝赐给我的恩典劝告各位，不要自视过高，要照着上帝赐给各人的信心中肯地看待自己。

他们不是靠自己的刀剑征服那里，不是靠自己的臂膀得胜，而是靠你的权能、力量和恩惠，因为你爱他们。

一句话说得合宜，就像金苹果放在银器里。

不轻易发怒者胜过勇士，能自我控制胜过攻陷城池。

耶和华啊，不要将荣耀归于我们，不要归于我们。愿荣耀归于你的名，因为你慈爱、信实！

我们照所得的恩典各有不同的恩赐。说预言的，要按着信心的程度说预言；

耶和华是我的力量，是我的诗歌；祂拯救了我。义人的帐篷里传出胜利的欢呼声：“耶和华伸出右手施展了大能！耶和华高举右手，耶和华的右手施展了大能！”

别的事我不敢提，只有一件是我津津乐道的，就是基督借着我的言语行为，用神迹奇事和圣灵的大能叫外族人顺服，使我把基督的福音从耶路撒冷一路传到了以利哩古。

坚忍说服君王，柔舌折断骨头。

凡事不可自私自利、爱慕虚荣，要心存谦卑，看别人比自己强。

俗语说得好，‘那人撒种，这人收割。’
