无花果树回答说：‘我岂肯止住所结甜美的果子，飘摇在众树之上呢？’

无花果树对它们说：‘我岂可停止结甜美的果子，而行走飘摇在众树之上呢？’

无花果树说，‘我怎能因为贪图凌驾于众树之上而停止出产甜美的果子呢？’

无花果树对它们说：‘我怎可以放弃结出我的甜美果子，飘摇在众树之上呢？’

無花果樹回答說：『我豈肯止住所結甜美的果子，飄颻在眾樹之上呢？』

無花果樹對它們說：『我豈可停止結甜美的果子，而行走飄搖在眾樹之上呢？』

無花果樹對它們說：『我豈可停止結甜美的果子，而行走飄搖在眾樹之上呢？』

無花果樹說，『我怎能因為貪圖淩駕於眾樹之上而停止出產甜美的果子呢？』

無花果樹對它們說：‘我怎可以放棄結出我的甜美果子，飄搖在眾樹之上呢？’

無花果樹對他們說：「我哪可以不產出我的甘甜、我的美果，而去搖來搖去在眾樹之上呢？」

無花果樹曰、我味甘、我果佳、豈舍此而搖於眾樹之上乎、

曰、吾味甚甘、我果甚嘉、豈能捨此、以轄樹乎。

無花果樹對曰、我至甘之佳果、至甘之佳果原文作我之甘及我佳果我豈能舍之、而往轄樹乎、

“ But the fig tree replied,‘ Should I give up my fruit, so good and sweet, to hold sway over the trees?’

“ But the fig tree replied,‘ Should I give up my fruit? It’s so good and sweet. Should I give that up just to rule over the trees?’

But the fig tree said to them,‘ Shall I leave my sweetness and my good fruit and go hold sway over the trees?’

But the fig tree also refused, saying,‘ Should I quit producing my sweet fruit just to wave back and forth over the trees?’

But the fig tree said to them,“ Should I stop giving my sweetness and my good fruit, and rule over trees?”

But the fig tree said to them,‘ Shall I give up my sweetness and my good fruit, and go to wave over the trees?’

But the fig tree said to them,‘ Should I cease my sweetness and my good fruit, And go to sway over trees?’

But the fig- tree said unto them, Should I leave my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to wave to and fro over the trees?

But the fig tree said to them,“ Should I stop giving my sweetness and my good fruit, and rule over trees?”

But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?

But the fig tree said to them,‘ I am not going to stop producing my sweet figs, my excellent fruit, just to sway above the other trees!’

“ But the fig tree said to them,‘ Should I leave my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to wave back and forth over the trees?’

Then he told this parable:“ A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard,‘ For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’ (niv)
