“ Who will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will mourn for you? Who will stop to ask how you are?

“ Who will have pity on you, O Jerusalem, or who will grieve for you? Who will turn aside to ask about your welfare?

“ Who will feel sorry for you, Jerusalem? Who will weep for you? Who will even bother to ask how you are?

Who will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will show sympathy toward you? Who will turn aside to ask about your well-being?

“ Indeed, who will have pity on you, Jerusalem, Or who will mourn for you, Or who will turn aside to ask about your welfare?

For who will have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who will bemoan thee? or who will turn aside to ask of thy welfare?

Who will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will show sympathy toward you? Who will turn aside to ask about your welfare?

The LORD cried out,“ Who in the world will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will grieve over you? Who will stop long enough to inquire about how you are doing?

For who will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will mourn you? Who will come to ask of your welfare?

These two things have come to you; Who will be sorry for you?— Desolation and destruction, famine and sword— By whom will I comfort you?

It shall come to pass that all who look upon you Will flee from you, and say,‘ Nineveh is laid waste! Who will bemoan her?’ Where shall I seek comforters for you?”

And afterward,” says the Lord,“ I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, his servants and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence and the sword and the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life; and he shall strike them with the edge of the sword. He shall not spare them, or have pity or mercy.”’

Reproach has broken my heart, And I am full of heaviness; I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.

So they turned aside there, and came to the house of the young Levite man— to the house of Micah— and greeted him.

He made my strength fail; The Lord delivered me into the hands of those whom I am not able to withstand.“ The Lord has trampled underfoot all my mighty men in my midst; He has called an assembly against me To crush my young men; The Lord trampled as in a winepress The virgin daughter of Judah.“ For these things I weep; My eye, my eye overflows with water; Because the comforter, who should restore my life, Is far from me. My children are desolate Because the enemy prevailed.”

“ Have pity on me, have pity on me, O you my friends, For the hand of God has struck me!

And they will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you shall receive from their hands.

David sent ten young men; and David said to the young men,“ Go up to Carmel, go to Nabal, and greet him in my name.

All who pass by clap their hands at you; They hiss and shake their heads At the daughter of Jerusalem:“ Is this the city that is called‘ The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth’?”All your enemies have opened their mouth against you; They hiss and gnash their teeth. They say,“ We have swallowed her up! Surely this is the day we have waited for; We have found it, we have seen it!”

And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together,” says the Lord.“ I will not pity nor spare nor have mercy, but will destroy them.”’”

So Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, bowed down, and kissed him. And they asked each other about their well-being, and they went into the tent.
