I will winnow them with a winnowing fork at the city gates of the land. I will bring bereavement and destruction on my people, for they have not changed their ways.

The LORD continued,“ In every town in the land I will purge them like straw blown away by the wind. I will destroy my people. I will kill off their children. I will do so because they did not change their behavior.

但以色列人沒有歸向萬軍之耶和華，也不尋求祂。

祂手拿簸箕，要把穀場清理乾淨，將麥子存入倉裡，用不滅的火把糠秕燒盡。」

你要簸它們，讓風吹散它們，讓狂風捲走它們。但你要以耶和華為喜樂，以以色列的聖者為榮耀。

毀滅巴比倫人的日子一到，我要差遣外族人從四面八方攻擊、消滅他們，如同狂風捲走碎稭。

因此，願他們喪身刀下，兒女餓死，妻子喪夫亡子，年長的被殺，年少的死於戰場！

耶和華啊，你要的不是誠實嗎？你責打他們，他們不感到疼痛；你嚴懲他們，他們仍不受教。他們屢教不改，臉比石頭還硬。

你們縱然把孩子養大，我也要奪去他們的性命，一個也不留。我撇棄你們的時候，你們就有禍了！我看見以法蓮栽種在草原上，美如泰爾，但以法蓮卻要把孩子交給屠殺者。」耶和華啊，求你給他們——你要給他們什麼呢？求你使他們子宮流產，乳房乾癟。耶和華說：「因他們在吉甲的一切惡行，我已憎惡他們。因他們的惡行，我要將他們逐出我的家，不再愛他們，他們的首領都是悖逆之人。以法蓮要被擊打，他們的根將枯乾，再也不能結果。就算他們能生兒育女，我也要殺死他們心愛的孩子。」我的上帝必棄絕他們，因為他們不聽從祂。他們必在列國中流離飄泊。

惡人的光景卻截然不同！他們就像被風吹散的糠秕。

耶和華吩咐我對猶大人說：「人跌倒後難道不站起來嗎？人走錯了路難道不回頭嗎？為什麼耶路撒冷的居民一味地背叛我？他們詭詐成性，不肯回頭。

不要像你們的祖先一樣。以前的先知曾呼喚他們要聽從萬軍之耶和華的話，改邪歸正，停止作惡，他們卻置若罔聞，不予理會。這是耶和華說的。

「人子啊，有一天我要奪去他們所喜悅、所誇耀、眼中所愛、心裡所慕的堡壘，也要奪去他們的兒女。

那時，耶和華必對這群百姓和耶路撒冷人說：「一陣熱風從荒野光禿的山頭吹向我的子民，不是為揚場、吹淨糠秕。那是我發出的一陣強風。現在我要宣告我對他們的審判。」

「我在你們中間降下瘟疫，如從前降在埃及一樣。我殺戮你們的青年，擄掠你們的戰馬，使你們軍營中的死屍臭味撲鼻。儘管如此，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。「我在你們中間施行毀滅，如從前毀滅所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣，使你們像從火裡抽出的一根柴。儘管如此，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。「以色列人啊，我要這樣懲罰你們。以色列人啊，準備迎見你們的上帝吧！因為我要這樣懲罰你們。」

「你們生兒育女，卻留不住一個，因為他們必被擄走。

『你告訴以色列人，我要使我的聖所，就是你們引以為傲、眼中所愛、心裡所慕的受到褻瀆。你們留下的兒女必死於刀下。

「婦女所生的，土地所產的，牛羊所生的都必受咒詛。

自己的兒女被外族人擄走，你們終日望眼欲穿，卻無能為力。

因為死亡從窗戶爬進我們的城堡，吞滅街上的孩童和廣場上的青年。

「當你們被敵人圍困、陷入絕境時，你們必吃自己的親生骨肉——你們的上帝耶和華賜給你們的兒女。因為被敵人困在城中，饑餓難熬，連你們中間最溫柔體貼的男人也要獨自吞吃子女的肉，不肯分給自己的兄弟、愛妻和剩下的兒女。
