This is what the Lord says:“ Go and buy a clay jar from a potter. Take along some of the elders of the people and of the priests

在這些像前有以色列家的七十個長老站立，沙番的兒子雅撒尼亞也站在其中。各人手拿香爐，煙雲的香氣上騰。他對我說：「人子啊，以色列家的長老暗中在各人畫像屋裏所行的，你看見了嗎？他們常說：『耶和華看不見我們；耶和華已經離棄這地。』」

耶和華對摩西說：「你從以色列的長老中招聚七十個人，就是你所知道作百姓的長老和官長的，到我這裏來，領他們到會幕前，使他們和你一同站立。

要被打碎，好像把窰匠的瓦器打碎，毫不顧惜，甚至碎塊中找不到一片可用以從爐內取火，從池中舀水。

「你起來，下到窰匠的家裏去，我在那裏要使你聽我的話。」我就下到窰匠的家裏去，正遇他轉輪做器皿。窰匠用泥做的器皿，在他手中做壞了，他又用這泥另做別的器皿；窰匠看怎樣好，就怎樣做。

錫安寶貴的眾子好比精金，現在何竟算為窰匠手所做的瓦瓶？

我們有這寶貝放在瓦器裏，要顯明這莫大的能力是出於神，不是出於我們。

使家宰以利亞敬和書記舍伯那，並祭司中的長老，都披上麻布，去見亞摩斯的兒子先知以賽亞，

那時，祭司長和民間的長老聚集在大祭司稱為該亞法的院裏。

要將年老的、年少的，並處女、嬰孩，和婦女，從聖所起全都殺盡，只是凡有記號的人不要挨近他。」於是他們從殿前的長老殺起。

以利亞撒子孫中為首的比以他瑪子孫中為首的更多，分班如下：以利亞撒的子孫中有十六個族長，以他瑪的子孫中有八個族長；都掣籤分立，彼此一樣。在聖所和神面前作首領的有以利亞撒的子孫，也有以他瑪的子孫。作書記的利未人拿坦業的兒子示瑪雅在王和首領，與祭司撒督、亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒，並祭司利未人的族長面前記錄他們的名字。在以利亞撒的子孫中取一族，在以他瑪的子孫中取一族。

到了早晨，眾祭司長和民間的長老大家商議要治死耶穌，

祭司長和文士並長老也是這樣戲弄他，說：「他救了別人，不能救自己。他是以色列的王，現在可以從十字架上下來，我們就信他。

「你要在同去的人眼前打碎那瓶，對他們說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：我要照樣打碎這民和這城，正如人打碎窰匠的瓦器，以致不能再囫圇。並且人要在陀斐特葬埋屍首，甚至無處可葬。

「萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神如此說：要將這封緘的和敞着的兩張契放在瓦器裏，可以存留多日。

第二天，官府、長老，和文士在耶路撒冷聚會，又有大祭司亞那和該亞法、約翰、亞歷山大，並大祭司的親族都在那裏，

國中的長老就有幾個人起來，對聚會的眾民說：
