“ This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says:‘ Listen! I am going to bring on this city and all the villages around it every disaster I pronounced against them, because they were stiff- necked and would not listen to my words.’”

“ The Lord who rules over all is the God of Israel. He says,‘ Listen! I am going to punish this city and all the villages around it. I am going to bring against them all the trouble I have announced. That’s because my people were stubborn. They would not listen to what I said.’ ”

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, behold, I am bringing upon this city and upon all its towns all the disaster that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their neck, refusing to hear my words.”

Yet they did not listen or pay attention; they were stiff-necked and would not listen or respond to discipline. (niv)

They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them, (niv)

But they mocked God’s messengers, despised his words and scoffed at his prophets until the wrath of the Lord was aroused against his people and there was no remedy.He brought up against them the king of the Babylonians, who killed their young men with the sword in the sanctuary, and did not spare young men or young women, the elderly or the infirm. God gave them all into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar. (niv)

Again and again I sent all my servants the prophets to you. They said,“ Each of you must turn from your wicked ways and reform your actions; do not follow other gods to serve them. Then you will live in the land I have given to you and your ancestors.” But you have not paid attention or listened to me.The descendants of Jehonadab son of Rekab have carried out the command their forefather gave them, but these people have not obeyed me.’“ Therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says:‘ Listen! I am going to bring on Judah and on everyone living in Jerusalem every disaster I pronounced against them. I spoke to them, but they did not listen; I called to them, but they did not answer.’” (niv)

You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit!Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him— (niv)

No, in your heart you devise injustice, and your hands mete out violence on the earth.Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward, spreading lies.Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like that of a cobra that has stopped its ears,that will not heed the tune of the charmer, however skillful the enchanter may be. (niv)
