“ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says:‘ I will bring disaster upon this city and its surrounding towns as I promised, because you have stubbornly refused to listen to me.’”

萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝云、我必降所言之災於是邑、及其屬邑、蓋彼強項、不聽我言也、

萬有之主以色列族之上帝耶和華曰、斯邑及四周之民、強項不從我言、故所言之災、必降其身。

萬有之主以色列之天主如是云、我所言之諸災、必降於此邑、及屬之之諸邑、因民強項、不聽我言、

“ This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says:‘ Listen! I am going to bring on this city and all the villages around it every disaster I pronounced against them, because they were stiff- necked and would not listen to my words.’”

“ The Lord who rules over all is the God of Israel. He says,‘ Listen! I am going to punish this city and all the villages around it. I am going to bring against them all the trouble I have announced. That’s because my people were stubborn. They would not listen to what I said.’ ”

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, behold, I am bringing upon this city and upon all its towns all the disaster that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their neck, refusing to hear my words.”

“ This is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says:‘ I am about to bring on this city— and on all its cities— every disaster that I spoke against it, for they have become obstinate, not obeying my words.’”

“ This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says:‘ Behold, I am going to bring on this city and all its towns the entire disaster that I have declared against it, because they have stiffened their necks so as not to listen to My words.’ ”

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:‘ Behold, I will bring on this city and on all her towns all the doom that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their necks that they might not hear My words.’”

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it; because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.

“ This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says:‘ I am about to bring on this city— and on all its dependent villages— all the disaster that I spoke against it, for they have become obstinate, not obeying My words.’”

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.

“ The LORD God of Israel who rules over all says,‘ I will soon bring on this city and all the towns surrounding it all the disaster I threatened to do to it. I will do so because they have stubbornly refused to pay any attention to what I have said!’”

“ Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says,‘ Behold, I will bring on this city and on all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.’”

but they did not listen or obey. They stubbornly refused to pay attention or accept my discipline.

But my people have not listened to me or even tried to hear. They have been stubborn and sinful— even worse than their ancestors.

“ You warned them to return to your Law, but they became proud and obstinate and disobeyed your commands. They did not follow your regulations, by which people will find life if only they obey. They stubbornly turned their backs on you and refused to listen.

They refused to obey and did not remember the miracles you had done for them. Instead, they became stubborn and appointed a leader to take them back to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a God of forgiveness, gracious and merciful, slow to become angry, and rich in unfailing love. You did not abandon them,

But the people mocked these messengers of God and despised their words. They scoffed at the prophets until the Lord’s anger could no longer be restrained and nothing could be done.So the Lord brought the king of Babylon against them. The Babylonians killed Judah’s young men, even chasing after them into the Temple. They had no pity on the people, killing both young men and young women, the old and the infirm. God handed all of them over to Nebuchadnezzar.

Time after time I sent you prophets, who told you,“ Turn from your wicked ways, and start doing things right. Stop worshiping other gods so that you might live in peace here in the land I have given to you and your ancestors.” But you would not listen to me or obey me.The descendants of Jehonadab son of Recab have obeyed their ancestor completely, but you have refused to listen to me.’“ Therefore, this is what the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says:‘ Because you refuse to listen or answer when I call, I will send upon Judah and Jerusalem all the disasters I have threatened.’”

“ Your ancestors refused to listen to this message. They stubbornly turned away and put their fingers in their ears to keep from hearing.They made their hearts as hard as stone, so they could not hear the instructions or the messages that the Lord of Heaven’s Armies had sent them by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. That is why the Lord of Heaven’s Armies was so angry with them.“ Since they refused to listen when I called to them, I would not listen when they called to me, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.As with a whirlwind, I scattered them among the distant nations, where they lived as strangers. Their land became so desolate that no one even traveled through it. They turned their pleasant land into a desert.”

“ You stubborn people! You are heathen at heart and deaf to the truth. Must you forever resist the Holy Spirit? That’s what your ancestors did, and so do you!Name one prophet your ancestors didn’t persecute! They even killed the ones who predicted the coming of the Righteous One— the Messiah whom you betrayed and murdered.

No! You plot injustice in your hearts. You spread violence throughout the land.These wicked people are born sinners; even from birth they have lied and gone their own way.They spit venom like deadly snakes; they are like cobras that refuse to listen,ignoring the tunes of the snake charmers, no matter how skillfully they play.
