For I hear many whispering. Terror is on every side!“ Denounce him! Let us denounce him!” say all my close friends, watching for my fall.“ Perhaps he will be deceived; then we can overcome him and take our revenge on him.”

I have heard the many rumors about me. They call me“ The Man Who Lives in Terror.” They threaten,“ If you say anything, we will report it.” Even my old friends are watching me, waiting for a fatal slip.“ He will trap himself,” they say,“ and then we will get our revenge on him.”

For I have heard the gossip of many people,“ Terror is on every side! Report him; let’s report him!” Everyone I trusted watches for my fall.“ Perhaps he will be deceived so that we might prevail against him and take our vengeance on him.”

For I have heard the whispering of many,“ Terror on every side! Denounce him; let’s denounce him!” All my trusted friends, Watching for my fall, say:“ Perhaps he will be persuaded, so that we may prevail against him And take our revenge on him.”

For I heard many mocking:“ Fear on every side!”“ Report,” they say,“ and we will report it!” All my acquaintances watched for my stumbling, saying,“ Perhaps he can be induced; Then we will prevail against him, And we will take our revenge on him.”

For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce, and we will denounce him, say all my familiar friends, they that watch for my fall; peradventure he will be persuaded, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.

They say,“ Perhaps he can be enticed into slipping up, so we can prevail over him and get our revenge on him.

For I have heard the defaming of many,“ Terror on every side! Denounce, and we will denounce him!” say all my familiar friends, those who watch for my fall.“ Perhaps he will be persuaded, and we will prevail against him, and we will take our revenge on him.”

彼以言罪人、設機檻以陷邑門督過者、以虛事屈義人、

匿怨者口言誑、讒謗者為愚人、

契合之友乃憎我、眷愛之人反攻我、

乃爾也、我之同儔、我之伴侶、我之密友兮、素昔和衷共議、偕眾行於上帝室兮、

爾中有毀謗者、流人之血、有人食於山、行淫亂、

書曰、列邦有此風傳、迦施慕亦言之、爾與猶大人謀叛、是以建垣、欲為其王、爾命先知在耶路撒冷、指爾而宣告曰、在猶大有王矣、此言必傳於王、故請至此、爾我相議、我遣使詣之曰、爾之所言、實無其事、乃爾中心捏造、蓋彼眾欲恐我、意謂我手必弱、以致工作不得成功、然我乃強厥手、○米希大別孫、第來雅子示瑪雅、杜門不出、我造其廬、彼謂我曰、爾我會於上帝室、進其殿、閉其門、有人欲殺爾、今夕必至、我曰、如我者、豈可逃遁乎、如我者、孰願入殿以保其生乎、我不入也、吾知其人非上帝所遣、乃受多比雅參巴拉之賄、以此預言告我、其人受賄、乃欲恐我、使我犯罪、可播惡言、得以謗我、

出時、士子與法利賽人嚴迫之、激使多言、設伏伺之、欲執其自口而出者、

勿往於田、勿行於道、蓋敵刃環繞、隨在震驚、

及旦、猶太人結黨誓而自呪曰、不殺保羅、不食不飲、同謀者四十餘人、乃詣祭司諸長與長老、曰、我儕已發重誓、不殺保羅、不進食也、今請偕同公會、告千夫長、明日曳之至爾前、若將詳究其情者、我儕已備、於其未至時殺之、

遂賄人使言曰、我儕曾聞其有謗凟摩西及上帝之言、乃聳動眾民與長老、士子、突至而執之、曳至公會、設偽證者、曰、此人出悖逆聖所、及律法之言不已、蓋我儕曾聞其言、曰、斯拿撒勒耶穌、將毀此所、且易摩西授我之規、坐公會中者、皆注目司提反、見其容如天使之容焉、

祭司諸長、及全公會、求妄證、攻耶穌以死之、雖多妄證者至、亦未得其據、後有二人進曰、

告之曰、王命拘此夫於獄、食以艱苦之餅、飲以艱苦之水、待我安歸、

眾聞之、忿極、欲殺之、

乃窺伺之、遣偵者、佯為義人、欲執其言、付於方伯權下治之、

以色列王曰、尚有一人、音拉子米該雅、可藉之諮諏耶和華、然我憾之、因其論我之預言、有凶而無吉、約沙法曰、王勿言是、

眾聞之、忿極、向之切齒、

今訟我之事、彼不能證於爾前、

越五日、大祭司亞拿尼亞、與長老數人、及辯士帖土羅、下至該撒利亞、訟保羅於方伯、召保羅至、帖土羅訟之曰、腓力斯大人、我儕由爾獲享承平、藉爾先見、此邦之敝俗得以轉移、我儕隨時隨地、感謝靡既、今不敢煩瀆、惟求寬宥、聽我片言、蓋我儕見此人如癘疫、於天下猶太人中滋亂、為拿撒勒黨之首、曾欲辱殿、我儕執之、

我處獅中、與火性之世人共臥、其齒為戈矢、其舌為利刃兮、
