Beware! I am against you, you who sit above the valley, you atop the rocky plateau— this is the LORD’s declaration— you who say,“ Who can come down against us? Who can enter our hiding places?”

耶和华说：住山谷和平原磐石上的居民，你们说：‘谁能下来攻击我们？谁能进入我们的住处呢？’看哪，我与你们为敌。

住在山谷和平原磐石上的居民啊，看哪，我与你们为敌，因为你们说：‘谁能下来攻击我们？谁能进入我们的住处呢？’这是耶和华说的。

看哪！在山谷上、在岩石平原上的耶路撒冷啊！我要攻击你。’这是耶和华的宣告。‘你们说：谁能下来攻击我们，谁能进入我们的住处呢？

耶和華說，耶路撒冷啊，你座落在山谷之上，如平原的磐石，自以為無人能攻擊你，無人能闖入你的住處。但我要攻擊你，

看哪！在山谷上、在巖石平原上的耶路撒冷啊！我要攻擊你。’這是耶和華的宣告。‘你們說：誰能下來攻擊我們，誰能進入我們的住處呢？

『永恆主發神諭說：住山谷和平原磐石上的人哪，你們說：「誰能下來攻擊我們？誰能進入我們的住處呢？」看哪，我跟你們為敵呢。

居於谷中、平原之磐者歟、爾曰、孰能降而擊我、孰能入我窟穴、耶和華曰、我為爾敵、

耶和華曰、爾居陵谷、處平原、據巖穴以為家、自謂無人干犯、無人入室、我耶和華攻爾、視爾所行而加刑罰、燃火於林、四面焚燬。

惟爾居山谷與平原之磐巖者、爾云、孰能下而攻我、孰能入我居所、主曰、我必臨而攻爾、

I am against you, Jerusalem, you who live above this valley on the rocky plateau, declares the Lord— you who say,“ Who can come against us? Who can enter our refuge?”

Jerusalem, I am against you,” announces the Lord.“ You live above this valley. You are on a high, rocky plain. And you say,‘ Who can come against us? Who can enter our place of safety?’

“ Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, O rock of the plain, declares the Lord; you who say,‘ Who shall come down against us, or who shall enter our habitations?’

I will personally fight against the people in Jerusalem, that mighty fortress— the people who boast,“ No one can touch us here. No one can break in here.”

“ Behold, I am against you, you inhabitant of the valley, You rocky plain,” declares the Lord,“ You who say,‘ Who will come down against us? Or who will enter our dwellings?’

“ Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, And rock of the plain,” says the Lord,“ Who say,‘ Who shall come down against us? Or who shall enter our dwellings?’

Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the valley, and of the rock of the plain, saith Jehovah; you that say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?

Beware! I am against you, you who sit above the valley, you atop the rocky plateau— this is the Lord’s declaration— you who say,“ Who can come down against us? Who can enter our hiding places?”

Behold, I[ am] against thee, O inhabitant of the valley,[ and] rock of the plain, saith the LORD; which say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?

Listen, you who sit enthroned above the valley on a rocky plateau. I am opposed to you,’ says the LORD.‘ You boast,“ No one can swoop down on us. No one can penetrate into our places of refuge.”

Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, and of the rock of the plain,’ says Yahweh.‘ You that say,“ Who would come down against us?” or“ Who would enter into our homes?”

The kings of the earth and all the world’s inhabitants did not believe that an enemy or adversary could enter Jerusalem’s gates.

Your arrogant heart has deceived you, you who live in clefts of the rock in your home on the heights, who say to yourself,“ Who can bring me down to the ground?”Though you seem to soar like an eagle and make your nest among the stars, even from there I will bring you down. This is the LORD’s declaration.

“‘ Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: You have spoken falsely and had lying visions; that’s why you discover that I am against you. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.

Look, I am against you, you arrogant one— this is the declaration of the Lord GOD of Armies— for your day has come, the time when I will punish you.

The mountains surround Jerusalem and the LORD surrounds his people, both now and forever.

Therefore, take note! I am against the prophets”— the LORD’s declaration—“ who steal my words from each other.I am against the prophets”— the LORD’s declaration—“ who use their own tongues to make a declaration.I am against those who prophesy false dreams”— the LORD’s declaration—“ telling them and leading my people astray with their reckless lies. It was not I who sent or commanded them, and they are of no benefit at all to these people”— this is the LORD’s declaration.

Her leaders issue rulings for a bribe, her priests teach for payment, and her prophets practice divination for silver. Yet they lean on the LORD, saying,“ Isn’t the LORD among us? No disaster will overtake us.”

Why do you boast about your valleys, your flowing valley, you faithless daughter— you who trust in your treasures and say,“ Who can attack me?”Look, I am about to bring terror on you— this is the declaration of the Lord GOD of Armies— from all those around you. You will be banished, each person headlong, with no one to gather up the fugitives.

As to the terror you cause, your arrogant heart has deceived you. You who live in the clefts of the rock, you who occupy the mountain summit, though you elevate your nest like the eagles, even from there I will bring you down. This is the LORD’s declaration.

I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and a strong arm, with anger, fury, and intense wrath.

The king and his men marched to Jerusalem against the Jebusites who inhabited the land. The Jebusites had said to David,“ You will never get in here. Even the blind and lame can repel you” thinking,“ David can’t get in here.”Yet David did capture the stronghold of Zion, that is, the city of David.

A pronouncement concerning the Valley of Vision: What’s the matter with you? Why have all of you gone up to the rooftops?

Do not trust deceitful words, chanting,“ This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD.”

Look, I am against you, devastating mountain. This is the LORD’s declaration. You devastate the whole earth. I will stretch out my hand against you, roll you down from the cliffs, and turn you into a charred mountain.

On that day explain to your son,‘ This is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

They set out from Succoth and camped at Etham on the edge of the wilderness.
