If a prophet or a priest or anyone else claims,‘ This is a message from the Lord,’ I will punish them and their household.

A prophet or priest might make a claim. Or someone else might do this. He might claim,‘ This is a message from the Lord.’ Then I will punish them and their family.

And as for the prophet, priest, or one of the people who says,‘ The burden of the Lord,’ I will punish that man and his household.

“ If any prophet, priest, or anyone else says,‘ I have a prophecy from the Lord,’ I will punish that person along with his entire family.

As for the prophet, priest, or people who say,‘ The burden of the LORD,’ I will punish that man and his household.

Then as for the prophet or the priest or the people who say,‘ The pronouncement of the Lord,’ I will bring punishment upon that person and his household.

“ And as for the prophet and the priest and the people who say,‘ The oracle of the Lord!’ I will even punish that man and his house.

And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of Jehovah, I will even punish that man and his house.

“ As for the prophet, priest, or people who say,‘ The burden of the Lord,’ I will punish that man and his household.

And[ as for] the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.

I will punish any prophet, priest, or other person who says“ The LORD’s message is burdensome.” I will punish both that person and his whole family.’”

As for the prophet, the priest, and the people, who say,‘ The message from Yahweh,’ I will even punish that man and his household.

And if anyone still prophesies, their father and mother, to whom they were born, will say to them,‘ You must die, because you have told lies in the Lord’s name.’ Then their own parents will stab the one who prophesies. (niv)

The visions of your prophets were false and worthless; they did not expose your sin to ward off your captivity. The prophecies they gave you were false and misleading. (niv)
