如彼果為先知、奉耶和華之命、則當祈萬軍之耶和華、俾在耶和華室、猶大王宮、耶路撒冷、尚存之器、不被遷於巴比倫、

如彼誠先知、奉耶和華命、則可祈萬有之主耶和華、使其殿宇、及猶大王宮、耶路撒冷邑所遺之器皿、必不遷於巴比倫。

If they are prophets and have the word of the Lord, let them plead with the Lord Almighty that the articles remaining in the house of the Lord and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem not be taken to Babylon.

If they are prophets and have received a message from me, let them pray to me. I am the Lord who rules over all. Those prophets should pray that what is still in Jerusalem will remain here. They should pray that the objects in my house and the king’s palace will not be taken to Babylon.

If they are prophets, and if the word of the Lord is with them, then let them intercede with the Lord of hosts, that the vessels that are left in the house of the Lord, in the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem may not go to Babylon.

If they really are prophets and speak the Lord’s messages, let them pray to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. Let them pray that the articles remaining in the Lord’s Temple and in the king’s palace and in the palaces of Jerusalem will not be carried away to Babylon!’

If they are indeed prophets and if the word of the LORD is with them, let them intercede with the LORD of Armies not to let the articles that remain in the LORD’s temple, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem go to Babylon.’

But if they are prophets, and if the word of the Lord is with them, have them now plead with the Lord of armies that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord and the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem do not go to Babylon.

I also told them,“ If they are really prophets and the LORD is speaking to them, let them pray earnestly to the LORD who rules over all. Let them plead with him not to let the valuable articles that are still left in the LORD’s temple, in the royal palace, and in Jerusalem be taken away to Babylon.

But if they are prophets, and if Yahweh’s word is with them, let them now make intercession to Yahweh of Armies, that the vessels which are left in Yahweh’s house, in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, don’t go to Babylon.

以色列人对撒母耳说：“请你不要静默，为我们呼求耶和华我们的神吧，好叫他拯救我们脱离非利士人的手。”

众民对撒母耳说：“求你为仆人向耶和华你的神祷告，免得我们死亡，因为我们为自己要求立王的事，是在我们的一切罪上又增加了这一件恶事。”

至于我，我决不停止为你们祷告，以致得罪耶和华；我要把善道正路教导你们。

良善的应得恶报吗？他们竟然挖陷坑害我。求你记念我怎样站在你面前，为他们说好话，使你的烈怒离开他们。

你们呼求你们神的名，我也呼求耶和华的名。那降火来显示回答的神就是神了。”众人都回答：“这话说得很好！”

所以你们应当彼此认罪，互相代求，这样你们就可以痊愈。义人祈祷所发出的力量，是大有功效的。以利亚是与我们性情相同的人；他恳切祈求不要下雨，地上就三年零六个月没有雨；他又祈祷，天就下雨，地就生出土产来。

希西家王和亚摩斯的儿子以赛亚先知为了这事祷告，向天呼求。

“至于你，不要为这人民祈祷，不要为他们呼求祷告，也不要为他们向我恳求，因为我不会听你。

现在你们要为自己取七头公牛、七只公羊，到我的仆人约伯那里去，为你们献上燔祭，我的仆人约伯就替你们祷告；我悦纳他的祷告，就不按照你们的愚昧待你们。你们讲论我，不如我的仆人约伯说的对。”于是提幔人以利法、书亚人比勒达、拿玛人琐法，照着耶和华吩咐他们的去行，耶和华就悦纳约伯的祷告。

耶和华对我说：“即使摩西和撒母耳站在我面前代求，我的心也不会转向这人民。你把他们从我面前赶走，叫他们出去！

我在他们中间寻找一人重修墙垣，在我面前为这地站在破口之处，使我不毁灭这地，我却找不到一个。

即使有这三个人在其中，主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，他们只能救自己，连儿女也不能救。如果我使瘟疫流行那地，藉着流血的事把我的烈怒倾倒在那地上，使人和牲畜都从那地剪除；即使当中有挪亚、但以理和约伯，我指着我的永生起誓，他们只能因自己的义救自己的性命，连儿女也不能救。这是主耶和华的宣告。”

对耶利米先知说：“求你容我们向你恳求，请为我们这余剩的民向耶和华你的神祷告；因为我们从前人数众多，现在剩下的极少，就像你现在亲眼所见的一样。

现在，你们要向神求情，好使他恩待我们。这污秽的祭物，既是你们经手献的，他还能悦纳你们吗？万军之耶和华说：

亚伯拉罕祷告神，神就医好了亚比米勒和他的妻子，以及他的众婢女，使她们能生育。

即使有挪亚、但以理和约伯这三个人，他们也只能因自己的义救自己的性命。这是主耶和华的宣告。

他们把人给他们的公牛牵了来，预备好了，就从早晨直到中午，呼求巴力的名，说：“巴力啊，应允我们吧！”可是没有声音，也没有回应。他们就在所筑的祭坛周围跳舞。

假如城中有五十个义人，你还真的要除灭那地方，不为城里的五十个义人而赦免那地方吗？你绝不会作这样的事：把义人与恶人一同杀死，把义人和恶人一样看待，你绝不会这样！审判全地的主，岂可不行公义吗？”耶和华说：“我若在所多玛城中找到五十个义人，我就因他们的缘故，赦免那地方所有的人。”亚伯拉罕回答，说：“我虽然是灰尘，还大胆地对我主说话。假如这五十个义人中缺少了五个，你会因为缺少了五个就毁灭全城吗？”他说：“我若在那里找到四十五个，我也不会毁灭那城。”亚伯拉罕再问他说：“假如在那里找到四十个呢？”他回答：“我因这四十个的缘故，也不这样作。”亚伯拉罕说：“请我主不要动怒，容我再问：‘假如在那里找到三十个呢？’”他回答：“我若在那里找到三十个，也不这样作。”亚伯拉罕说：“我再大胆地对我主说，假如在那里找到二十个呢？”他回答：“我因这二十个的缘故，也不毁灭那城。”亚伯拉罕说：“请我主不要动怒，容我问这最后的一次，假如在那里找到十个呢？”他回答：“我因这十个的缘故，也不毁灭那城。”耶和华与亚伯拉罕说完了话，就走了；亚伯拉罕也回到自己的地方去了。
