『「『將來無論哪一國哪一邦不服事他，不服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，不將脖子放在巴比倫王的軛下的，我必用刀劍、饑荒、和瘟疫、去察罰那國，永恆主發神諭說，直到把他們都交在巴比倫王手中。

無論何國何族、不服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、不以其項負巴比倫王之軛者、我必以鋒刃饑饉疫癘罰之、迨盡滅於其手、耶和華言之矣、

耶和華又曰、凡諸邦國、不肯服軛、事巴比倫王、尼布甲尼撒者、必以鋒刃、饑饉瘟疫罰之、翦滅務盡。

主又曰、若有民有國、不願服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、不願項負巴比倫王之軛、我必以鋒刃饑饉疫癘罰其民、直至我藉巴比倫王之手、滅之務盡、

“‘“ If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I will punish that nation with the sword, famine and plague, declares the Lord, until I destroy it by his hand.

“‘ “But suppose any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon. And suppose it refuses to put its neck under his yoke. Then I will punish that nation with war, hunger and plague,” announces the Lord.“ I will punish it until his powerful hand destroys it.

“‘“ But if any nation or kingdom will not serve this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, I will punish that nation with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence, declares the Lord, until I have consumed it by his hand.

So you must submit to Babylon’s king and serve him; put your neck under Babylon’s yoke! I will punish any nation that refuses to be his slave, says the Lord. I will send war, famine, and disease upon that nation until Babylon has conquered it.

“‘“ As for the nation or kingdom that does not serve King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and does not place its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation I will punish by sword, famine, and plague— this is the LORD’s declaration— until through him I have destroyed it.

‘ And it will be that the nation or the kingdom which will not serve him, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and will not put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, I will punish that nation with the sword, with famine, and with plague,’ declares the Lord,‘ until I have eliminated it by his hand.

And it shall be, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and which will not put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation I will punish,’ says the Lord,‘ with the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

And it shall come to pass, that the nation and the kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith Jehovah, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

“ As for the nation or kingdom that does not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and does not place its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation I will punish by sword, famine, and plague”— this is the Lord’s declaration—“ until through him I have destroyed it.

And it shall come to pass,[ that] the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

But suppose a nation or a kingdom will not be subject to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Suppose it will not submit to the yoke of servitude to him. I, the LORD, affirm that I will punish that nation. I will use the king of Babylon to punish it with war, starvation, and disease until I have destroyed it.

“‘“‘ It will happen that I will punish the nation and the kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon,’ says Yahweh,‘ with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

耶利米对西底家说：“耶和华万军的神、以色列的神这样说：‘你若出去归降巴比伦王的将领，你的性命就可以存活；这城也不会被火焚烧，你和你一家都可以存活。但你若不出去归降巴比伦王的将领，这城就必交在迦勒底人的手中；他们必放火烧毁这城，你自己也不能从他们的手里逃脱。’”西底家王对耶利米说：“我害怕那些已向迦勒底人投降的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人把我交在他们手中，他们就会凌辱我。”

主耶和华这样说：“我打发刀剑、饥荒、猛兽和瘟疫这四样可怕的刑罚临到耶路撒冷，要把人和牲畜从那里剪除的时候，那情况岂不更严重吗？

沙番的孙子、亚希甘的儿子基大利向他们和他们的士兵起誓，说：“你们不要惧怕服事迦勒底人，只管住在这地，服事巴比伦王，就可以平安无事。

‘你们若决意住在这地，我就建立你们，必不拆毁；栽植你们，必不拔除；因我为那已经降在你们身上的灾祸回心转意。你们所怕的巴比伦王，你们不要惧怕他；你们不要惧怕他（这是耶和华的宣告），因为我与你们同在，要拯救你们，要搭救你们脱离他的手。我要向你们施怜悯，他也会怜悯你们，使你们归回自己的土地。’但是，你们若说：‘我们不住在这地’，不听从耶和华你们的神的话，或说：‘不！我们要去埃及地，在那里看不到战争，听不见号角的声音，也不会因缺乏粮食而饥饿；我们要留在那里。’这样，犹大余剩的人哪，你们现在要听耶和华的话！万军之耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘你们若决意去埃及，到那里寄居，你们惧怕的刀剑必在埃及地追上你们；你们恐惧的饥荒必在埃及紧随着你们；你们必死在那里。所有决意去埃及，在那里寄居的人，必因刀剑、饥荒和瘟疫而死；他们没有一人能幸存，或避过我降在他们身上的灾祸。’“因为万军之耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘我从前怎样把我的怒气和烈怒倾倒在耶路撒冷的居民身上，现在你们进入埃及的时候，我也必照样把我的烈怒倾倒在你们身上。你们就必成为令人惊骇、被人咒骂、咒诅和羞辱的对象。你们必不能再看见这地方。

因为耶和华的怒气向耶路撒冷和犹大发作，直到他把他们从自己的面前赶走。后来，西底家背叛了巴比伦王。西底家作王第九年十月十日，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领他的全军来攻打耶路撒冷；他们在城外安营，又在四周筑垒攻城。于是，城被围困，直到西底家王第十一年。四月九日，城里饥荒非常严重，甚至那地的人民都断了粮食。

如果他们不肯从你的手中接过这杯来喝，你就要对他们说：‘万军之耶和华这样说：你们一定要喝。因为，看哪！我既然在那称为我名下的城中先降灾祸，你们真可免受惩罚吗？你们必不能免受惩罚，因为我要呼唤刀剑来攻击这地所有的居民。’”这是万军之耶和华的宣告。
