並將西底家的一對眼睛都弄瞎了，然後用銅鍊鎖着他，要將他帶到巴比倫去。

你要說：主永恆主這麼說：這葡萄樹哪能發旺呢？鷹難道不將它的根拔起，將它的枝子芟除，使發生的嫩葉都枯乾掉麼？這也不必用大力和許多人去從根那裏將它拔出呀。看哪，葡萄樹固然是被移植了，然而哪能發旺呢？東風一擊打它，它哪能不全然枯乾呢？它必定在它寄生的苗床上枯乾掉的。』

迦勒底人必來攻城，使這些房屋充滿着人的屍身，就是我發怒氣和烈怒時所擊殺的人；因為我因他們一切的壞事掩面不顧這城。

你也必從埃及出來，兩手抱頭；因為永恆主已棄絕了你所倚靠的；你必不因他們而得順利。』

但猶大王西底家啊，你還要聽永恆主的話哦！論到你、永恆主是這麼說：你必不會死於刀下。你必安安然然而死。人怎樣為你列祖、你以前的先王、焚燒香料，人也必怎樣為你焚燒香料，為你舉哀說：「哀呀，主上啊！」因為永恆主發神諭說：這話我已經說了。』

你看，是上帝在頭裏率領我們，和我們同在，他的祭司也拿着號筒大聲吹來攻擊你們。以色列人哪，不要同永恆主你們列祖的上帝交戰哦；因為你們是絕不能成功的。』

我必將我的網撒在他身上，他必在我的網羅中被捉住；我必將他帶到巴比倫、迦勒底人之地；但是那地他是看不見的；他也必死在那裏。

就使你們擊敗了那攻擊你們的迦勒底人全軍，其中只剩下一些被刺重傷的人，他們也會各從自己的帳棚裏起來，放火焚燒這城的。」』

那時上帝的靈覆被在祭司耶何耶大的兒子撒迦利亞身上，撒迦利亞就站在比人民高的地方，對他們說：『上帝這麼說：「你們為甚麼越犯了永恆主的誡命，以致不能順利呢？因為你們離棄了永恆主，永恆主也離棄你們。」』

「永恆主以色列的上帝這麼說：看吧，我必使你們手中的戰器、就是你們在城外跟巴比倫王和圍困你們的迦勒底人打仗的戰器、翻轉過來，使這些器械都聚集在這城中。我必以怒氣、烈怒和大惱怒用伸出來的手和大能力的膀臂親自攻擊你們。

沒有智慧、沒有明達、沒有謀略能敵得過永恆主。

摩西說：『你們為甚麼這樣越犯永恆主所吩咐的呢？這是不能成功的。
