Elnathan, the son of Akbor, was also there. So was Gemariah, the son of Shaphan. Zedekiah, the son of Hananiah, was there too. And so were all the other officials.

Elishama the royal secretary, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Achbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the other officials were seated there.

约雅敬王差亚革波的儿子以利拿单，带领几个人前往埃及。

七月中，王的大臣，就是王室后裔以利沙玛的孙子、尼探雅的儿子以实玛利带着十个人，来到米斯巴，亚希甘的儿子基大利那里；他们在米斯巴一同吃饭。

众官长把书卷留在以利沙玛文士的房间里，然后进院见王，把这一切话说给王听。王就派犹底去拿这书卷来；他就从以利沙玛文士的房间内取来，念给王和侍立在王左右的众官长亲耳听。

巴录就在耶和华殿的上院，靠近耶和华殿的新门口，沙番的儿子基玛利雅文士的房间里，宣读书卷上耶利米的话给众百姓亲耳听。沙番的孙子基玛利雅的儿子米该亚听见书卷上耶和华的一切话，

于是，希勒家祭司和亚希甘、亚革波、沙番、亚撒雅都去见户勒大女先知，她是掌管礼服的沙龙的妻子；沙龙是哈珥哈斯的孙子，特瓦的儿子。户勒大住在耶路撒冷第二区。他们向她请教。

约雅斤登基的时候年十八岁，在耶路撒冷作王三个月。他母亲名叫尼护施她，是耶路撒冷人以利拿单的女儿。

约西亚王十八年，王派米书兰的孙子，亚萨利雅的儿子沙番书记上耶和华殿去，说：

当年，就是犹大王西底家登基第四年五月，押朔的儿子基遍人哈拿尼雅先知，在耶和华的殿中当着祭司和众百姓的面对我说：“万军之耶和华—以色列的神如此说：我已经折断巴比伦王的轭。二年之内，我要将巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒从这地掳掠到巴比伦的器皿，就是耶和华殿中的一切器皿，都带回此地。我又要将约雅敬的儿子犹大王耶哥尼雅和被掳到巴比伦所有的犹大人带回此地，因为我要折断巴比伦王的轭。这是耶和华说的。”耶利米先知当着祭司和站在耶和华殿里众百姓的面，对哈拿尼雅先知说：“阿们！愿耶和华如此行，愿耶和华实现你所预言的话，将耶和华殿中的器皿和所有被掳去的人从巴比伦带回此地。然而我在你和众百姓耳中所要说的话，你应当听。从古以来，在你我以前的众先知，向多国和大邦说预言，论到战争、灾祸、瘟疫的事。至于那预言平安的先知，到先知的话应验的时候，人就知道他真是耶和华所差来的。”哈拿尼雅先知就取下耶利米先知颈项上的轭，把它折断。哈拿尼雅又当着众百姓的面说：“耶和华如此说：二年之内我必照样从列国的颈项上折断巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒的轭。”耶利米先知就离开了。哈拿尼雅先知折断耶利米先知颈项上的轭以后，耶和华的话临到耶利米，说：“你去告诉哈拿尼雅说，耶和华如此说：你折断木轭，却换来铁轭！万军之耶和华—以色列的神如此说：我已将铁轭加在这些国的颈项上，使他们服事巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒。他们总要服事他，我也把野地的走兽给了他。”于是耶利米先知对哈拿尼雅先知说：“哈拿尼雅啊，你应当听！耶和华并没有差遣你，你竟使这百姓倚靠谎言。所以耶和华如此说：看哪，我要把你从地面上除掉，你今年必死，因为你向耶和华说了叛逆的话。”这样，哈拿尼雅先知当年七月间就死了。
