Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe’s knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire.

Jehudi read three or four sections from the scroll. Then the king cut them off with a secretary’s knife. He threw them into the fire pot. He did that until the entire scroll was burned up in the fire.

As Jehudi read three or four columns, the king would cut them off with a knife and throw them into the fire in the fire pot, until the entire scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the fire pot.

Each time Jehudi finished reading three or four columns, the king took a knife and cut off that section of the scroll. He then threw it into the fire, section by section, until the whole scroll was burned up.

以色列王对约沙法说：“还有一个人，我们可以托他求问耶和华。不过我憎恨他，因为他对我说的预言，都是凶话，不是吉话。这人就是音拉的儿子米该雅。”但约沙法说：“请王不要这么说。”

因此好讥笑人的人哪！就是管辖这些在耶路撒冷的人民的，你们要听耶和华的话。因为你们曾说：“我们与死亡立了约，与阴间结了盟；刑罚的鞭子扫过的时候，必不会碰到我们，因为我们以谎言作遮蔽，以虚假作庇护。”

藐视训言的，必自取灭亡；敬畏诫命的，必得善报。

不接受我的劝告，轻视我的一切责备；

那些人虚假的绳索牵引罪孽，又像用车绳拉罪恶的人，有祸了！他们说：“愿他赶快、迅速地成就他的作为，给我们看看！愿以色列的圣者所计划的临近！愿它来到，好让我们知道！”

说：‘王这样吩咐：把这人囚在监里，少给他食物和水，直到我平平安安回来。’”

人心里的谋算很多，唯有耶和华的计划能实现。

任何智慧、聪明、谋略都不能敌挡耶和华。

如果人听了这咒诅的话，心里仍然自夸说：‘我虽然照着顽梗的心而行，使好人和恶人一起灭亡，我还有平安。’耶和华必不肯饶恕他；耶和华的怒气和愤恨必向这人发作，这书上所写的一切咒诅都要降在那人身上，耶和华也必从天下涂抹他的名。耶和华必照着写在这律法书上的约的一切咒诅，把他从以色列众支派中分别出来，使他遭受灾祸。

我要以公平为准绳，以公义为线铊；冰雹必把谎言的遮蔽冲去，大水必漫过庇护所。”你们与死亡所立的约要废除，你们与阴间所结的盟必立不住；刑罚的鞭子扫过的时候，你们就必被践踏。每次扫过的时候，都把你们抓去；因为每早晨它必漫过，白天与黑夜也是这样；人若明白所传的，必受惊恐。床铺太短，人就不能伸直，被窝太窄，就盖不住全身。耶和华必像在毗拉心山一样兴起，又像在基遍谷一样发怒，为要作成他的工，他那奇妙的工，好成就他的事，就是奇异的事。现在，你们不可再讥笑了，免得捆绑你们的绳索绑得更紧，因为我从主万军之耶和华那里听到，决定要在全地上施行毁灭的事。

至于你，你憎恨管教，并且把我的话丢在背后。

如果有人从这书上的预言删减什么，神必从这书上所记的生命树和圣城删去他的分。

说：“我为什么恨恶管教，我的心为什么轻视责备，

论到犹大王约雅敬你要说：‘耶和华这样说：你烧了那书卷，说：你为什么在上面写着说：巴比伦王一定来，毁灭这地，使地上的人畜都灭绝呢？因此，耶和华论到犹大王约雅敬这样说：他的后代必没有人坐在大卫的王位上；他的尸体必抛弃在外，日间受炎热，夜间受寒霜。我必惩罚他和他的后裔，以及他臣仆的罪孽；我必使我对他们预告过的一切灾祸，临到他们和耶路撒冷的居民，以及犹大人的身上；他们却不听从。’”

人屡次受责备，仍然硬着颈项，他必突然毁灭，无法挽救。
