Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe’s knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire.

Jehudi read three or four sections from the scroll. Then the king cut them off with a secretary’s knife. He threw them into the fire pot. He did that until the entire scroll was burned up in the fire.

As Jehudi read three or four columns, the king would cut them off with a knife and throw them into the fire in the fire pot, until the entire scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the fire pot.

以色列王对约沙法说：“还有一个人，是音拉的儿子米该雅，我们可以托他求问耶和华。只是我恨他；因为他指着我所说的预言，不说吉语，单说凶言。”约沙法说：“王不必这样说。”

所以，你们这些亵慢的人，就是辖管住在耶路撒冷这百姓的，要听耶和华的话。你们曾说：“我们与死亡立约，与阴间结盟；敌军如水涨漫经过的时候，必不临到我们；因我们以谎言为避所，在虚假以下藏身。”

藐视训言的，自取灭亡；敬畏诫命的，必得善报。

不听我的劝戒，藐视我一切的责备，

祸哉！那些以虚假之细绳牵罪孽的人！他们又像以套绳拉罪恶，说：“任他急速行，赶快成就他的作为，使我们看看；任以色列圣者所谋划的临近成就，使我们知道。”

王如此说，把这个人下在监里，使他受苦，吃不饱喝不足，等候我平平安安地回来。”

人心多有计谋；惟有耶和华的筹算才能立定。

没有人能以智慧、聪明、谋略敌挡耶和华。

听见这咒诅的话，心里仍是自夸说：‘我虽然行事心里顽梗，连累众人，却还是平安。’耶和华必不饶恕他；耶和华的怒气与愤恨要向他发作，如烟冒出，将这书上所写的一切咒诅都加在他身上。耶和华又要从天下涂抹他的名，也必照着写在律法书上、约中的一切咒诅将他从以色列众支派中分别出来，使他受祸。

我必以公平为准绳，以公义为线铊。冰雹必冲去谎言的避所；大水必漫过藏身之处。”你们与死亡所立的约必然废掉，与阴间所结的盟必立不住。敌军如水涨漫经过的时候，你们必被他践踏；每逢经过必将你们掳去。因为每早晨他必经过，白昼黑夜都必如此。明白传言的必受惊恐。原来，床榻短，使人不能舒身；被窝窄，使人不能遮体。耶和华必兴起，像在毗拉心山；他必发怒，像在基遍谷，好做成他的工，就是非常的工；成就他的事，就是奇异的事。现在你们不可亵慢，恐怕捆你们的绑索更结实了；因为我从主万军之耶和华那里听见，已经决定在全地上施行灭绝的事。

其实你恨恶管教，将我的言语丢在背后。

这书上的预言，若有人删去什么，神必从这书上所写的生命树和圣城删去他的份。

说：“我怎么恨恶训诲，心中藐视责备，

论到犹大王约雅敬你要说，耶和华如此说：你烧了书卷，说：‘你为什么在其上写着，说巴比伦王必要来毁灭这地，使这地上绝了人民牲畜呢？’所以耶和华论到犹大王约雅敬说：他后裔中必没有人坐在大卫的宝座上；他的尸首必被抛弃，白日受炎热，黑夜受寒霜。我必因他和他后裔，并他臣仆的罪孽刑罚他们。我要使我所说的一切灾祸临到他们和耶路撒冷的居民，并犹大人；只是他们不听。”

人屡次受责罚，仍然硬着颈项；他必顷刻败坏，无法可治。
